Something's going on here, but I'm not sure what it is. Good color, but it really needs to choose a direction in which to take you rather than leaving you wondering what you're drinking. Not nearly as fine as their most excellent Dark Lager. Kinz (2215), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/20 | Dec 18, 2003 Baltimore version. Dark, creamy head, nice looking beer. Aroma was malt focused, touch of molasses. Flavor matched, with something kind of strange and almost metallic going on that I couldn't put my finger on. Hops did not find their way into the taste of this one. Not my favorite style to begin with, and I've been very disappointed with Weeping Radish overall recently. egajdzis (3638), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 13, 2003 Poured a copper color with a quickyl diminishing off white head. Mild malt, wheat, some caramel in the aroma. Caramel maltiness and alittle hops in the finish. Watery mouthfeel. Not enough spice here for a weizen bock. BBB63 (4271), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Dec 12, 2003 Copper hue with small off-white head. The aroma hinted of roasted malt, caramel, toffee, and light aromatics. The taste is sweet and caramel notes come to the forefront. Grassy hops and minor fruit undertones. Lively mouthfeel with noticeable alcohol burn midway through tasting. The beer is confusing in it's delivery, unrefined. argo0 (6998), Washington DC, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 11, 2003 Clear dark copper with minimal beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, toffee/caramel, butterscotch, light alcohol. Taste is mild sweet, some caramel, then kind of disappears into a fizzy acidity mid-body before finishing earthy/grassy bitter and light alcohol. Afterburp is stronger alcohol. Fizzy-on-the-tongue medium body. HighGravity (890), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 10, 2003 (Growler) Nice malt/sugar nose. Medium in body. Very clear and fresh tasting. Style wise this beer is more of a big dunkel or a baby bock; this brew is hardly a dopplebock. However, it is enjoyable and well made. Prostman (1077), Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 9, 2003 First let me say that my beer is a doppelbock so I am not sure if the style description is correct in its listing. The beer poured a nice dark brown with a white head. Taste was malty and very balanced. I would recommend this to any lover of bocks. Excellent. slang (407), Columbia, South Carolina, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 8, 2003 Tan head leaving little lacing. Dark, amber bock. Malty and crisp, very drinkable. Doesn't feel very "christmas" like, needs to have more warmth. Bottle gives no description other than "christmas beer." It's alright.
