Mahogony hue. Head wanes rapidly and looks disappointing--like a cola or something. Slight Caramel nose, but not as strong as I might expect. Weak on flavor--probably due to backwards NC ABV limits. Not terrible, but barely anything close to a bock in anything other than color. Dissapointing beer from my home state--and I had to go to DC to get it. Thanks to argo0 for the beer.

Brownish red, tan head, but it goes away quickly. Big walnut and nutmeg aroma, plus some bread and cereal aromas, as well. Flavor is woodsy, salty, dry, plus some hints of whiskey. finish is surprisingly crisp. Not traditional, but pretty good.

My impression of this light caramel colored beer was a clean, malty lager. Not too strong, but just enough to make you sit up and appreciate the malty richness of a good lager.

This beer looked great after the pour. Huge foamy off white head settled with a beautiful lace on top of a very warm and inviting body. The color was deep golden brown with huges of amber and red. It went down hill from here. The nose was dry and thin with no destictive charateristics other than a "burn your nose" dryness with maybe some hop pressence. This beer was an American Standard in a nice outfit. Very slight sweetness up front, not a smooth malt sweetness, but sugary taste, ending much like the aroma, slightly bitter. Watered down flavor seemed to hinder any destinctive taste. Palate was crisp, clean and dry. It left me some what thirsty.

Had this at the Bon Vivant Beer Lovers Club on 6-27-03(after the brunt of the people left - thanks again Mike!). Deep brown body with a malty, rich, pleasant nose. Creamy but somewhat thin body and a sweetened, malt and wood taste on the tongue. Similar to a stronger Black Radish beer. Pretty good stuff!

Purple, pinot noir-ish color; head had good density; wonderful bready aroma. Slightly malty. Not a ton of character. Very mild.
