(Bottle 33 cl) German version brewed by Anker Brauerei in Nagold. Comes as "Weeping Radish Christmas Beer Dark Lager" at 5,7% ABV. Very dark with a limited head. Nutty, malty and roasted with some aromatic bitterness. Hardly a Doppelbock. 040501

Dark brown. Apple and toffee in the aroma. Medium to light body, clean flavour, rather low bitterness. I can’t help but associating to baked apples when drinking this.

Clear dark copper with minimal beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, toffee/caramel, butterscotch, light alcohol. Taste is mild sweet, some caramel, then kind of disappears into a fizzy acidity mid-body before finishing earthy/grassy bitter and light alcohol. Afterburp is stronger alcohol. Fizzy-on-the-tongue medium body.

Picture-perfect, sparkling clear, amber lager. Fizzy, off-white head. The nose is of caramel and butterscotch. The flavor is very malty and sweet; lightly astringent and not-quite-balanced. Oily mouthfeel with lively carbonation. Crisp and astringent, but lightly sweet finish.

Bottle courtesy of emacgee. Pours brown with a ruby red hint and an off white head. Smells of chocolate, some light tarte hints, spicy. Tastes of spice, sweet malt, some chocolate. Enjoyable rich body. Great beer from a great brewer.

Copper/ruby pour with aroma of toffee, caramel, some slight banana. Tastes hefish, with some spicy and dense bock element, but seems a tad off balance. Not horrible, and a nice effort.

Copper hue with small off-white head. The aroma hinted of roasted malt, caramel, toffee, and light aromatics. The taste is sweet and caramel notes come to the forefront. Grassy hops and minor fruit undertones. Lively mouthfeel with noticeable alcohol burn midway through tasting. The beer is confusing in it's delivery, unrefined.
