The nose on this beer is exceptional. Crisp aromas of pale malt are balanced to perfection with grassy hop aromas. The palate is firm with lots of good, crisp pale malt flavors, with a very round, smooth, and clean malt body. Corrolla Gold finishes with more great pale malt flavors up front, and is balanced to perfection with some grassy hop bitterness.
This beer is an impressive domestic version of helles. It was pure bliss as a beer lover to drink liters of this beer, fresh on draught in the beer hall restaurant. freekyp (903), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Sep 19, 2007 A very well-crafted Helles with a bready aroma and flavor, and a nice grassy hop finish. Pours a deep golden with a thick rocky white head that sticks to the glass like a spider web. This brew is more German than some of the helles I’ve had in Germany. A fine stateside example of why the helles is a classic style. Note that this sample was from the brewery tap, and was sampled after Weeping Radish went back from being contract brewed to in-house. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 9, 2007 Bottle from Manteo. WOW - Smells very Germanic. Incredible orange/yellow color with a white head. Spicy malty flavor with a very "smooth" taste. This beer is very, very good with a strong malt flavor throughout including a big slightly sweet finish. Mirage52 (127), New Market, Maryland, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 12, 2006 From the bottle. Poured the usual deep golden color with a medium sized and rapidly disapating head. Pretty bubbly. The mouthfeel is instantly buttery, then changes into a smooth finish free of offensive hops or a sweet malty aftertaste. A very enjoyable, and very drinkable variation of the Helles genre. urbnhautebourg (974), Annapolis, Maryland, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 19, 2002 Updated: Feb 11, 2008New: In 22oz. What a perfect beer. Malty and rich, with tons of complexity. I am amazed that this is not made in Germany. It has a flavor which suggests real pedigree, like a beer which has been brewed for hundreds of years. Soft and delightful. Old: 2.6 There is something good lurking here. But it’s amongst the shadows and this beer remains a shadow of a rather excellent Helles. There are unusual light malt flavors which evolve into caramel and finish dry. The problem is that they are on such a small scale. It’s like drinking a low calorie version of Ayinger Jahrhundert. Rather sad. I just wish the brewer would beef up what is already present here. HighlanderOne (546), Somewherein, New Jersey, USA

The aroma is clean and invitingly malty with yeast in the background.
Malty and smooth on the tongue with a slightly bitter hop finish. Very refreshing, pleasant Helles.
