emacgee (1055), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Jun 9, 2008 Sampled at the Blues and Brews festival. Pours a copper gold with a white head. The nose is sweet, has some hay in the nose, grassy. The flavor is grassy, some hay, grainy, light hop presence. A little waxy with a light bite.
taalhiker (15), , Ohio, USA Sep 1, 2008 Bottle. Brought back from Outer Banks vacation. I love the Black Radish and Altbier, but the Corolla Gold disappointed me. Nothing stuck out as bad but not a memorable beer. radagast83 (1049), Springfield, Virginia, USA Aug 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours a clear golden color. Aroma is malty. Flavor is quite similar, with a slightly sweet light malt flavor. Extremely refreshing and quite enjoyable. MaltDawg (294), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jun 15, 2008 1/2L bottle from the brewery. Mostly clear golden with slight white head. Aroma of carmelized malts. Flavor is slightly sour with a bit of pale malt sweetness and some fruity notes, a grainey finish with just a touch of some hop bitterness. mbgrayson (47), Anaconda, Montana, USA Jun 14, 2008 Not one I would buy. I was given a glass, and it has too much bite and bitterness for me. We had a large bottle directlkly from the new brewery location on the drive from Norfolk to the Outer Banks. Butters (315), Richmond, Virginia, USA Jun 11, 2008 Don’t know how old this bottle was, but it clearly was skunked. Once past that, this still was not an enjoyable beer. Pours a blurred straw color with not much head. Smelled of grassy piss aroma. Tastes like grassy hops and slightly vegetal. Unenjoyable astringent finish.
