Kinz (1917), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA Jun 18, 2003 With great trepidation after reading all the warnings, I'm putting in a new beer. I found it in a liter flip-cap bottle at the bottom of the take-out beer cooler at the brewery. The spelling of "Wiezen," although incorrect, is what is on the bottle. I opened it up, and a frothy head of foam sprang up, and just kept coming and coming. Filled up two glasses with the foam alone. After this I was able to pour one I could actually drink. Hazy medium brown color appropriate for a the style. Huge head that lasted throughout the beer. Taste was surprisingly light, malty, but a bit thin in the middle. A bit of hops, and very faint bananas in the finish. I would have hoped for a bigger German yeast influence. Better overall than the hefe, but still not all that great a beer.
