Aroma is oaky, farmy, yeast, malt. Taste is oaky, farmy, malt, secondary vinegar, some yeast. [Wow, I am guessing they brought more than one cask to the Hopfest, and I got my taste of this from ‘the other one’ than the 2 previous RBers, as they mention nothing about a vinegar presence] LiebeBier (793), Annapolis, Maryland, USA

Cloudy Orange, very little head. Yeasty, bready aroma. Smooth, viscous palate. Pronounced Chocolate flavor at first, then herbal bready flavors in the finish. Dry, vaguely citrusy finish. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 21, 2007 "Farm Brew Organic Altbier", aged in a wooden cask. Amber-copper coloring with a fluffy light tan head. Laces well. Aromas have a bit of everything it seems: fruitiness, caramels, yeastiness, and a touch of funk. Flavors are smooth and gliding, with a bready malt base and flowery hops to boot. Easy drinking. An utter surprise to me, as my previous experiences with the brewpub have been quite less than stellar. It brings me back to them. TheBeerLover (1019), DC Metro Area, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 20/20 | Oct 6, 2006 Enjoyed this one on draught at the restaurant in Manteo, and brewery in Jarvisburg, NC, back in August of 06. This beer celebrates Weeping Radish’s 20th Anniversary, and is brewed with organic malt. This beer is a excellent domestic example of altbier, and has really good hop and malt character. This beer pours to a slightly hazy, deep amber color, with a thick, rocky, white head, and a soft to moderate carbonation. The nose on this beer is very fresh, with lots of good grassy hop aroma, paired with some good aromas of caramel malt, and hints of nuts. The palate is very fresh, and soft, with good toasty/nutty malt flavor, on a soft, smooth body. This beer finishes with more good malt up front, then ends with a very pleasing, grassy/herbal hop bite that lingers. I can not overstate how fresh this beer tastes on draught at the brewery and restaurant. A must if you find yourself in and around the Outer Banks of NC. Kinz (2215), Glen Allen, Virginia, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 4, 2006 Had a hasty lunch at Weeping Radish on the way back home, only had time to sample the Alt. Too bad, as I had never bothered rating the Corolla Gold, and never even sampled their Kolsch. But for a pleasant change of pace, this was better than a great number of beers I’ve had from Weeping Radish recently, perhaps because I think they are finally brewing their own again? In any case, copper with a nicely lingering head. Aroma was light but malty. Flavor was a great blend of light caramel and some really cool hops - earthy, with notes of hay, pepper, and just a hint of something floral. Hops are on a restrained show here, but their bitter presence is definitely the focus of this beer. Very good stuff.
