500ml bottle shared courtesy of Miver. Poured a medium to deepter orangish color with a large sized off white head. Aromas of nuts and caramel. I wasn’t really getting too much else. Tastes of the same nuttiness, caramel, grains, and some cardboard.

Farm Ale Altbier-on cask @HopfestNC-pours no head and copper color. Aroma is oaky, farmy, yeast, malt. Taste is oaky, farmy, malt, secondary vinegar, some yeast. [Wow, I am guessing they brought more than one cask to the Hopfest, and I got my taste of this from ‘the other one’ than the 2 previous RBers, as they mention nothing about a vinegar presence]

Pours reddish brown with a thin off white head/ Smells of sweet malt, some earthy hints, peppery splashes, dark fruit. Tastes sweet and malty with a full body and a nice spicy finish.

Poured a hazy golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Alcohol really stuck me as high, in both the aroma and taste. I believe the bottle said this was <5%. Was earthy, grainy, light citrus, wood, and a bit of sweeter caramel.

Thanks to miver for sharing this one. Pours a mostly translucent golden amber with a smaller bubbly/creamy off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of molasses, caramel, toffee, earthy, nuts, woody and some cardboard. Flavor was kind of tart, grainy, dry, bubbly carbonation, caramel, nuts and a touch of hops.

Bottle - 1 liter swing-top. Dark reddish brown pour with a short tan head. Aroma is caramel, light toffee, spicy hops and earthy notes. Taste is sweet malts, caramel, light toffee spicy hops, and dark bready notes. Body is light-medium with a strong but controlled carbonation. Finishes with more bready notes, toffee, spicy hops, grass, caramel and earthy flavors. Rather tasty!

Draught at the brewpub. Amber color with very tall head. Nice malty aroma. Caramel malt flavors with a fair amount of hop bitterness. Not much hop flavor. Tasty.

At 2007 Hickory Hops, on cask, as "Farm Brew Organic Altbier". Cloudy Orange, very little head. Yeasty, bready aroma. Smooth, viscous palate. Pronounced Chocolate flavor at first, then herbal bready flavors in the finish. Dry, vaguely citrusy finish. Nice stuff.
