| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 13, 2005 Draught. Cloudy pale gold with a large white lasting head. Sour acidic taste with fruit and citrus. Stringent acidic finish . I’ve also had it bottled, and it’s not nearly as good as the draught version DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 13, 2005 (12 oz bottles: Obtained in trades with jasonp and suttree, thanks Jason and Phil!) I’ve sampled two bottles of this beer, and both times, it has reminded me of apples. Apples in the flavor and apples in the nose. This is the second Weeping Radish beer I’ve tried that reminded me of of apples (the other being the Corolla Gold), so this is becoming a trent. Very estery nose, a bit sweet sweet but also displaying a moderate citric tartness, and no sign of any signature hefeweizen aromas such as banana or clove. And in the flavor, the wheat body is kind of being masked by a sweet apple character and again some lemony tartness. As the beer warms up, I start to pick up some banana, but it’s almost too little, too late. Light-medium in body, but the modest tartness keeps the palate somewhat refreshing. Pale golden color and fully cloudy. Small white head settles to a broken film. Not enjoying this one at all. GeneralGao (3071), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 4, 2005 Draught at the brewpub. Hazy golden color with ample head and lace. Bananas and cloves are prominent in the nose and flavor. Very true to style. I like it. can8ianben (907), Pasadena, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 20, 2005 Very nice! Had this one at a tasting in H’burg and really liked it. The pourer said they used actual german yeast to really give it an authentic flavour. He mentioned that you wouldn’t find an american brewed Hefeweizen that was this tasty, and I think I might agree. Loads of spicy cloves, banana, bubblegum, all good. Holdwine (908), Beertimore, Maryland, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 16, 2005 Solid above average hefe. Nice balance between yeast and wheat. Yummy lemony quality. Missing out on some of the stronger spices normally in the style, but it works well. boto (1345), Granby, Connecticut, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 12, 2005 12oz. bottle: The color of this one is a hazy straw yellow. Mine had a very limited white head on it. The aroma was pleasing, yet a little light. I got a faint breadiness and yeastiness to it, along with some faint citrus and clove. The taste isn’t bad. Some clove with a decent wheat flavor, as well as a tinge or sourness. Touches of the lemon and clove also. Not too bad. Thanks, Jay.
