| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 4, 2001 OBX Beer is labeled as such. Black letters on a white background, so not much to go on. I decided to give it a shot. OBX is a local abbreviation for the Outer Banks of North Carolina. This beer, however, is brewed in Baltimore, go figure. Opening the bottle, I didn’t know what to expect. After the pour, got a light hoppy aroma. A taste showed it to be an ale, not quite hoppy enough to be a pale ale. The flavor is generally light, tending toward the hops, which are moderate. Nothing particularly impressive, but not bad either. It’s smooth and drinks easy. Probably won’t offend anyone or wow them either. EKGoldings (447), Radford, Virginia, USA

Taste is clean with mild malt and very mild hop character. An OK beer that at least tastes like an all malt lager instead of rice or corn infested swill. Decent beer if you like lagers. bowen008 (134), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 12, 2003 Good Lager. Nothing really stands out. Medium malt, medium hops. Will go well with spicy foods. Label is like those white, oval euro-car stickers with black initials. Dogbrick (2907), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 31, 2003 Courtesy of City Beverage in Winston-Salem. Unfortunately the beer is nowhere near as nice as the location. Pours a clear dark reddish-orange color with a thin off-white head. Very thin lacing. The aroma consists of some hops and spice. The body is a little on the thin side, and there is a fair amount of hops in the flavor, but very little else. Slight but lasting hoppiness in the finish. I would probably get this again if I were vacationing in the Outer Banks but not otherwise. Suttree (2748), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Not much flavor to speak of, some malty notes and slight hoppy notes. OK, clean lager with a medium sweet finish. Aubrey (2782), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 1, 2001 Those OBX stickers are on the back window of just about every other vehicle in North Carolina and Virginia. I didn’t like seeing it on the beer’s label also. Anyway, this beer is clear-golden, clean tasting, fairly dry, with just a hint of sweetness. Lacking in the hop department... and overall flavor, for that matter. Not necessarily bad, just blah.
