Oct 23, 2008 Bottle courtesy of durhambeer. Pours mahogany with a thin head. Smells of caramel, dough, spice, some mellow fruity hints. Tastes earthy with some citrus and pepper. A little flat on the mouthfeel.

Apr 25, 2005 Dark brown color with medium tan off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, toffee, spice. Tastes as it smells, with s good complexity comprised of the malt, caramel, spice, and I even caught some pumpkin in this.

Mar 20, 2009 The aroma is sour, dusty, and buttery with a touch of grass. The appearance is amber with a small head. The flavor is like the aroma with a touch of paper and vinegar. The palate is thin. Overall this is not at all to style and it has problems but it has a great buttery finish.

Mar 11, 2002 Eh. Typically not a fan of the style, but this one is unimpressive even for the style. Nice ruby-reddish color, but little aroma and the flavor is mildly hoppy with an uninspiring, vaguely nutty maltiness.

Sep 28, 2008 500 ml. Dark copper with a thin disc of foam that leaves some soapy lace. Faint aroma of caramel apple. Flavor is sour apple with a bit of caramel, then some grain and dry grass on the finish. Light-medium body is smooth and dryish.

Oct 30, 2008 bottle, from Raleigh Wholefoods. Ok aroma, sweet, malty, lite grassiness and sourdough. Hazed brownish orange color, small head that quickly faded to nothing, no lace. Bittersweet flavor, malty, fruity. caramel, apple, tad sour too. Medium body, watery mouthfeel, tart finish. Not one to get excited about, though I had minor hopes that this brewery would nail an Ofest.
