Bottle: Dirty caramel, a little orangish, muddy, large frothy off-white head, nice lacing. Soft spicy nose, not too heavy. Its a little non-descript, somewhat like all-spice. Very minor citrus zest. Body and mouthfeel are moderate. Has a minor tart like twang on the backside. As it warms it even gets a bit musty. Not bad, not sour, but it may be a bit past its prime. I never knew this one existed! Thanks Cletus!

Feb 25, 2009 Bottle courtesy Durhambeer, thanks Bob! Pours a hazy dark orange with a thick frothy white head. Aroma is pumpkin, cinnamon and nutmeg with a citrus sourness. Taste has some sour ale qualities, citrus and tart with some pumpkin and spice flavor. I’d almost say that this was a "pumpkin lambic". Weird and tasty.

Feb 25, 2009 Updated: Mar 1, 2009500 ml. Foggy orange-amber with a medium sized head that lasts well and leaves crunchy lace. Faint aroma of pie spices is overwhelmed by citric tart and fruity, wild yeast similar to a lambic. Disappointingly the same sour lemon flavor, with some underlying baked pumpkin and nuttiness. Maybe some wheat in there as well, hard to tell with the dominating sourness. Light-medium body is watery, smooth and acidic dry. If you like lambics, you’ll like this "pumpkin" beer.

Feb 13, 2009 Trade extra from emacgee. Thanks Ethan. Copper/light brown in color with a pretty big white head that dissipates. Alot of spices in the aroma: cinnamon, and nutmeg seem to the dominant ones- with some caramel malts and a touch of fruit. Taste is also spicy with cinnamon and nutmeg, some pumpkin. Body is lean, and the malt character is mainly toasted/crystal malts. This beer has an interesting tartness midway through the taste, which overall I didn’t find too enjoyable. Finishes dry, with some lingering spices, malt, and moderate acidity. Interesting, yet weird

Transparent red-copper with a long lasting, nice-sized foamy white head, lots of lace. Nose reminds a little of Jolly Pumpkin beers in the clean acidity and malt, but here there’s a warm, earthy pumpkin note. Tart, citrus driven flavor with plenty of malt, and the pumpkin again plays a fantastically subtle role, somewhat pulpy and seedy in fact. Crisp body, very light and carbonated nicely, finishing nicely in sweet, earthy malt and citrus, and with a puckering lactic-like note. Really good stuff here, and unbelievably drinkable. Fans of JP’s line should seek this out.

Jan 10, 2009 At Ale Atlanta tasting. Wow, what strong aroma, but I have difficulty defining it. Most people didn’t like it and poured it out. Cloudy yellow amber color. Very vegetal. Hint of sour. Meh.

Jan 9, 2009 bottle, from Raleigh Whole Foods, ok aroma, Pumpkin, all spice, brown sugar, and oh-oh, vinegar. Clean bronze orange color, Ok head that faded quickly. Flavor, kaboom, vinegar kicks in, some of the aspects of aroma are there, but now overpowered by what some might say is lemon, but me I say vinegar. Lite body, watery mouth feel, bitter finish. Not buying anymore bottles until I see positive comments. The bottles I got at now closed restaurant didn’t have this problem.
