Pours dark mahogany with a tint of red and a creamy, beige head. Nose full of licorice. Very full body with lots of roasted malt and accents of dried fruit. Lightly perfumy. Almost no bitterness. Pleasant - but closer to a malty Bock really. 170406 bierkoning (6100), La Tropica, Netherlands

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 26, 2006 The style of this beer confuses me - the front label tells me, that it is a Porter, while the back label calls it a Dobbel bock, the appearance is much like a bock and it only has slight porter traces. The color is deep red with a lazing brown head. The aroma is sweet with only a touch of roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with quite a lot of chocolate. The mouthfeel is very smooth. OK. pivo (2537), Germany

Chocoloate, roasted malt, very sweet flavor - slighlty spicey. Med-body, the alcohol comes through somehow. Pretty decent. larsniclas (3390), Gothenburg, Sweden

Dark amber, bubbly beige head.
Sourish aroma with small amount of nuts and toffee.
Extremely bland to be a porter.
Dry and sour with weak aroma. nicolascage (105), Copenhagen (Virum), Denmark

Dark brown colour. Sweet malty, almost doppelbock-like nose, not with the almondy notes though. Bit spicy. Flavour is sweet malty, still a bit dry and ashy. Not very porter-ish.
