Commercial Description:
A full rich bodied, hoppy, seasonal lager. Especially brewed for the Festbier season. This beer truly represents the Bavarian way of celebrating. Deep gold color, great mouthfeel and lots of flavor. Prost!

Straw color with a soft white head. Decent lace. Pale malt and somewhat grassy/herbal hops. Smells like a fairly typical euro lager. Quite lively in feel. Pale and toasty malts abound. Quite heavily hopped with a green hop and herbal quality in the middle. Soft wintergreen and malt follow in the finish and linger. Smooth and drinkable. A bit sharper than most fest brews, but very clean.

Clear yellow body with a light white head. Sweet malty aroma with some german hops. Sweet german hop flavor with a light malt background.

Ridiculously huge and sort of impressively white frothy head atop a clear yellow body. Aroma was mildly grainy and malty with a bit of sweetness. The flavor was much more intense than the aroma, with a lot of the sweet grainy flavors. Very clean and super easy to drink. I can imagine having a huge stein of this and getting good and drunk. Not the greatest brew really, but still pretty solid for what it is. Light and easy, good for those who want to go the distance.

Bottle. Yellow brew with small head that disappears quickly. Aroma is very faint, but what’s there is sweet and dusty. Flavor is clean and very grainy. Glorified bud light of sort.

Very gold. Grassy and slightly skunky hops. Very thin, and not tasty. Not much of a good thing.

Pours a brassy gold with just the slighest hint of red and orange. White frothy head, thin, but long lasting. Aroma is wet grass, clay, vegetable hops, and hydro peroxide. Not all that enticing, but hell, its German. Taste is almost like water, but with a bit of acid and malt near the ending, with a hint of smoke. After another drink, seems watery with a hop dry ending. Tastes almost like somebody boiled hot dogs in water, added a little hops and alcohol, and bottled it. For a brewery with this kind of history, I’m disappointed they couldn’t make a better festbier.

12oz. Probably the lightest Maerzen I’ve ever had, but still delightful. Fluffy white head on the poor with very light copper body. Great carbonation that makes this very refreshing and easy to drink liters of. Fairly simple but good cereal grains and some decent hop on the finish that helps the lighter body. Could easily be fooled into thinking it is a pilsener.
