Commercial Description:
A full rich bodied, hoppy, seasonal lager. Especially brewed for the Festbier season. This beer truly represents the Bavarian way of celebrating. Deep gold color, great mouthfeel and lots of flavor. Prost!

Pours clear golden orange with a moderate white head that diminishes rapidly and leaves spotty lace. Sweet grainy, fruity and yeasty aroma, with floral notes to balance. Flavor is sweet bread, spring flowers and autumn leaves, clover honey and hints of tangerine. Medium body, light carbonation and a somewhat tingly feel on the tongue.

Golden pour with huge amounts of visible carbonatoin and a lasting white head. Sweet, malty aroma. Grain/bread, yeast and a nice malty flavor. Slightly skunky. Not really a great marzen but an OK beer.

I decided to pour 3 12oz bottles into my 1L glass. Pours a transparent deep golden with a thin, wispy-lacing foamy white head. Aroma has a nice light pale malty sweetness and good floral noble hoppy presence. Body starts with normal viscosity and a lightly toasty, sweet biscuity malty character with a hint of toffee and earthy bittering balance. Finishes crisp and bittersweet with nice floral hoppy notes. Not quite as caramely as I’m used to for the style, but definitely drinkable and well-balanced.

One pint bottle purchased from Holiday Wine Cellar. I saw a festbier and i knew i had to jump on it before it went out of season. Plus i mean Germany Oktoberfest starts in September anyway so ill get a head start before them. Crystal clear appearance with a soapy layer of foam. Average smell of malt and hay or grass. The flavor is all malt with some malt liquor like qualities but yet very quaffable. Okay but nothing id buy again.

(BBE 9/07) Light yellow colored, medium sized white head. Lively carbonation. Sweet, fruity, even honeyish aroma with some grainy-cereal soapiness, now I see what people sometimes mean by these cereal-tones. Medium bodied. Flavor is even sweeter with strong lemony fruits, this grainy-cereal tone also here. Some metal in aftertaste, biting esters also with dry cardboard. Not very pleasant brew, has this already gone bad.

bottle - Really? This beer is a marzen? I felt like I was drinking a pale lager. It pours light gold with a two finger white head. The mild aroma is light cereal malt and a touch of hops. The flavor is also light malt with some mild hops, mostly in the finish. It’s very easy to drink and quite underwhelming in the taste department. I’d call it good for the sadly lacking style of pale lager, but is very understated for a marzen.

Yellow, with a brief white head. White bread aroma, with a touch of fruitiness. Very cereally, grainy flavor at first, then a crisp, peppery finish. . Fairly flavorful and enjoyable.

Pours a deep golden with a lasting, yet soapy, off-white head. Aroma is of spicy mittlefurh and fresh biscuits. The body is med. with med-lt. CO2. Somewhat sweet with a drying finsh. The flavors are beautiful, sweet biscuity malts. Some lemon-grass and pepper from the hops really rounds out an otherwise sweetish beer. The bitterness in the finish gives a very nice refreshment to this very palatable German brew. No SO2, no H2S, no diacetyl. I don’t really know what the rest of you want in a present day octoberfest. Really nice beer.
