Commercial Description:
A full rich bodied, hoppy, seasonal lager. Especially brewed for the Festbier season. This beer truly represents the Bavarian way of celebrating. Deep gold color, great mouthfeel and lots of flavor. Prost!

From BevMo, this poured a cloudy yellow with small white head and light lacing. Nose is malts and light grassy hops. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor is malty with some citrus. No much in the finish.

(500ml bottle, courtesy of ilovedarkbeer) Pours a lightly hazy yellow body with a medium white head. Aroma of lemon, grass, bread yeast, and alfalfa. Flavor of lemon, grass, and biscuit with a slightly metallic finish.

A surprising find in my motherinlaws stock. Clear gold with a short lived white head. Hoppy and malty aroma with a touch of spice in the background. Slight sweet with a touch of citrus in the flavor. Very nice

I was surprised to drink this Christmas Eve. My brother had a nice selection in the beer fridge. Golden Marzen with a few large bubbles floating in the foam. German O-Fest in all its average glory.

On tap at Maxs. Clear golden in color with a little white head. Hoppy and malty aroma. Caramel notes. Grainy malty and hoppy flavor. Citrusy notes. Crisp and clean tasting. Dry finish. Medium bodied. Nice beer.

12 oz. bottle, suggesting this is an “export” version. That and the very light pour. Oddly, some floaties in the bottle, unusual for a German beer, I’d think. So we have something indistinguishable from a pale lager. Smell is kind of fusel-like. Well, this was an “end of code” special. Taste shows just a little bit of extra malt to it, but mostly seems gassy and hints at adjuncts. Maybe the stuff they pour in Germany is better than this, but this sample aptly demonstrates that “Reinheitsgeböt” is now just a suggestion.

Amber yellow colored pour. Nose: corn and grass. Taste: Bit of plastic, apples. This is not good.

Bottle thanks to ilovedarkbeer. Pours with White head that fades and a hazy yellow body. Not a Marzen in my mind. Aroma of grass, corn and butter...again not to style. Taste is wet dog and diacetyl. Light carbonation and buttery mouthfeel.
