| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 30, 2009 Bottle. Pours a mellow hazy brown in color with a fluffy off white head. Aroma notes are as expected for the style, banana, spice-clove, sweet dough. Flavors are much the same combining the clove - nutmeg and banana flavors of the wheat with the rich roasty malts of the dunkel. Very easy drinking and an enjoyable session. mickmac (105), Ngunnawal, Australia
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 30, 2009 From the bottle it pours with a huge rocky off white head and a yeast haze orange brown colour. The bear combines the wheat beer yeast flavours of cloves-banana with the caramel-toffee notes from the dark malts. Nice.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 15, 2009 Bottle from Total wine. Pours a cloudy brown color. Nice light tan head. Spices, yeast, caramel, banana, bubblegum and some roast. Flavor is quite nice. Smooth and sweet with banana bread, coriander, yeast, and light roast. Easy and really nice. Davros (248), Australia
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 14, 2009 Hazy copper/brown in colour with an inch-high head that shows reasonably persistence.
Lots of overripe/cooked banana (like in banana fritters) apparent even during pour. Upon further inspection wheat and some spices (coriander and cloves) are detectable, as well as some sweet darker malts with contribute a caramel note.
Flavours are a mix of wheat and caramel malts, as well as banana and cloves. A restrained bitterness sits nicely in the background.
Spritzy carbonation works well to support the traditional watery wheat flavour/texture. Highly drinkable! GAManiac (1197), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 13, 2009 On tap at Taco Mac Lindbergh.
Pours a hazy brownish amber that looks a bit like tea in the glass underneath a big off-white head that shows good lacing.
The aroma is just flush with bananas and bubblegum sweetness mixed with lots of clove spiciness. It definitely has a bit more malt presence than the hefe and a bit of lemon as well.
The taste ratchets the bananas down a notch and the malts come through a bit more. The finish brings back the spiciness of the cloves and leaves a dry, clean finish.
The mouthfeel is highly (almost too) carbonated and extremely smooth going down.
I was expecting this to be one of the best dunkels I’ve ever had and it lived up to the expectations. A supremely drinkable beer. lithy (1825), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
