Mar 8, 2009 I absolutely love dark wheat beers and this did not disappoint. Bottled at Effin Gruven, I had 2 of these for the night cap just catching up with an old friend, great beer to chill with. Goes down smooth with a heavy bready flavor, heavy lacing, heavy heavy, loved it.

Mar 7, 2009 Tap at Toronado. Pours with a dirty brown color and is very murky. Aromas of clover, banana and bubblegum. Flavors of cloves, spices but is lacking some of the breadiness. It is just a bit too thin and not chewy enough. Respectable but not nearly as satisfying as their regular wheat.

Mar 3, 2009 Beware...if you are looking for a full-bodied wheat beer then this isn’t what you are looking for. Although rather light given the dark pour and large, frothy head, the overall quality of this dunkelweizen is very appreciated. The mild fruit and spice tones mix well with the smooth finish. In the end, this is definitely a beer I would recommend to my friends.

Feb 26, 2009 Bottle. Aroma has notes of yeast, wheat malt, and citrus. Hazy med brown hue with a large frothy off-white head that diminished and left good lace. Flavor is sweet and a little sour. Palate is watery soft. Nothing special.

Feb 24, 2009 Pours a hazy nut brown with a large tan head. Rich aromas of the yeast and malt. Very smooth beer with an apple fruitiness and a smooth finish. Light bodied but very enjoyable!

Feb 23, 2009 Light brown in color. Caramel malts, some light clove, a little bit of earth and grass, as well. Not too bold, just smooth and relaxing.

Feb 21, 2009 Color: Medium dark copper brown. Thick head that dissipated quickly. Nose: Malt and spice, grassy. Medium body, solid carbonation. Mild malt up front, clove, hints of fruits, raisins. Flavors blend nicely and are mild. Alcohol barely noticeable. Slightly dry, with a lingering touch of sweet. Enjoyable.
