Commercial Description:
Supple, malty and mellow. Its harmonious flavour is the great strength of our dark wheat beer.

Very similar to the sweet taste of the hefeweizen leicht, but with a little more substance, thus, i found this beer to be quite the pleasant amalgamation of sweetness and bitterness

500mL bottle purchased from Bauer Wines in Boston. Pours a murky, muddy brown with good head. The head does fade and there is little lacing. The aroma isn’t overly strong, but then again I don’t seem to be smelling all that much these days. The flavour is sadly weak. There’s some OK wheatiness, but it fades quicker than I would like, and there isn’t much in the way of the banana flavours that I like in a good weizen. That being said, this may be one of my first dunkelweizens, so perhaps those are different.

Pours a clouded gold brown with no head. Nose is slightly sweet in a banana kind of way. That is basically the prevalent fragrance that hits you the whole time. Bananas. Big fields of them. Flavor is smooth and a bit mild, but even. There is that hefe typical character there, but a strong banana skin profile to it as well, just like the nose. Feel is smooth on the mouth. Definitely drinkable. A really good brew that is worth trying.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Stockholm) Dark brownish amber colour, hazy, with huge beige head. Malty nose with slightly citric wheat aromas, chocolate and earthy notes of yeast. Malty taste with slightly sourish notes of wheat, chocolate, toffee and hints of yeast. Balanced sweetness. Overall very balanced, quite nice.

Dark brown and unclear. Has a off-white head, medium lasting. Notes of fruit in the aroma, banana and caramel. Flavor is mainly sweet. Soft carbonation. Syrup texture.

Poured from a bottle, into a tulip glass. Muddy brown, with terrific, creamy. long lasting head. Fades to great lacing. Smeels of a bannna, malt, wheat bread. Taste dominated by cloves, with a nice alcohol finish. I really like this beer. Everything I have tried from Weihenstephaner has been nothing short of wonderful.

Eyes closed. Banana. A nice dark weisse mit hefe. Just a stand-up beer. I could drink this all day. I am reminded of times in the Bavarian countryside. Maybe some dark bread some local Bavarian meat and cheese would be nice right now
