Commercial Description:
Supple, malty and mellow. Its harmonious flavour is the great strength of our dark wheat beer.

Nose has some banana, some wheaty tang, a bit of sweetness. Apperance is brown, with a good-sized head, and quite cloudy. Somewhat chocolatey, lightly sweet. Quite tangy.

Muddy brown color with a tall beige head. Clove and banana aroma with lots of wheat. Banana esters are strong in the aroma, really brought out by the strong carbonation.

Pour is a cloudy brown with a large white head. Aroma is very much banana’s and lots of clove. The flavor is some wheat with a touch of banana and some yeast. Could use some more kick in the spice dept. but this is still a very enjoyable and affordable beer.

5/20/2007: Weihenstephaner Hefeweissbier Dark pours a hazy brown/amber color with a large, foamy, off-white head that leaves foamy lacing marks. The aroma has banana, clove, caramel malt, and some yeast. Muted banana and clove with some extra maltiness in the background blend together in the flavor. This beer has a medium-light to medium body. There is a good level of carbonation in the mouthfeel (appropriate for the style). Good overall, but seems to be lacking in general...

Rerate 7/31/09. 500 mL bottle from Wine Warehouse in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a hazy orange-brown color with a large frothhy head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of banana, cinnamon and other spices, yogurt and a bit of citrus. Taste is cinnamon, other spices, toast, yeast and very light citrus and banana notes. Thin-medium bodied. 7/4/6/4/13/3.4

500 mL bottle. Dark amber. Definite banana aroma... I felt the carbonation gave a light feel to what could have otherwise been a heavier beer. Light yellowish head was present, but lacking. 6/4/6/4/15/3.5

Pours murky dark copper with a large light tan dense head. The aroma has toasted wheat, dried bananas, 7-Up, clove and meringue. Medium body at first, but thin on the finish with some semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with sour dark wheat, some tobacco, toasted malt and light banana. The finish has a bit of spice added. A good beer, but not my favorite from the brewery.

Draught. Cloudy light brown with medium head. Wheaty aroma with some banana. Flavor is wheaty and fruity with some malt and notes of light roastiness. Medium-bodied.

One bottle from BOTW. #550 for me. Nice aroma of wheat with a decent head. Clove/banana hints and just a bit of roasty malt. Clean, light finish. A little bit thin in body for a dark, Close to the reg. Hefe. and good too.
