Commercial Description:
Supple, malty and mellow. Its harmonious flavour is the great strength of our dark wheat beer.

NIce cloudy brown, with a white head but not much aroma. The head diminishes pretty quickly. The beer is a pretty good, refreshing wheat but I would’ve liked more of a yeastiness to it.

Rated 4/24/06: Ah, smooth crisp and refreshing what a pleasant surprise. The pour is a murky water brown. An extravegant pillowy head forms and never leaves. The aroma fills my nose with some nice banana and clove scents. The flavor is good there is a nice touch of sweet maltiness that helps tame the yeast & wheat dominance. As stated before this beer is really smooth, and absolutely enjoyable. This Dunkelweiss is much better than their original Hefeweiss.

Tap, Berlin. Dark amber with a big-bubble off-white, bordering to tan, head. Aroma a bit subdued, with sweet notes of chocolate and caramel, as well as dark fruits. No noticeable spice through banana or clove, and only a very slightly perceivable wheat note. Taste is caramel and cocoa upfront, but the beer lacks a significant finish. Very malt-centric, it seemed to me, with no noticeable spice characters and none of that interesting wheat character that ought to be coming through in droves. Slight alcohol presence which was strange. Rasping on the tongue, with a bit of hop character which was redeeming if a bit off for the style. High but finely carbonated, full bodied.

Poured a hazy dark amber with a thick creamy offwhite head. The aroma is predominated by banana and sour notes with some spice coming in as well. The flavor also boasts a lot of banana, some spice, a little citrus, and sour notes. The palate is smooth and refreshing. I thoroughly enjoyed this wheat beer.

Dark brown beer with medium white head. Lot of bananas, yeast and some toffee-like sweetness. Flavour is typically yeasty with bananas and hint of dark malts. Medium bodied palate with lot of carbonation. Aroma promises a lot but flavour and refresness is not anymore at the same level.

Amber color. Tangy wheat aroma and flavors. I didn’t smell or taste roasted malt. The same as hefeweissbier as far as I’m concerned.

Apricot colored pour. Caramel-dipped raspberry and banana aroma against a spicy wheat canvas. A touch of candi sugar or bubblegum. Taste is reminiscent almost of blueberry pancakes with maple syrup. Some clove flavor with cranberry tartness. An almost chocolatey aftereffect. Sharply carbonated, clean palate. High in quality and again a fine and honest representative of the style.

500ml bottle. Aroma: Nice bready wheat malt with a nice dose of caramel and brown sugar. Lots of pepper and clove, and banana. Some light bubblegum. Appearance: Light coppery brown in color and very hazy. Off-white head was full and foamy with good retention. Fair lacing. Flavor: Grainy and bready wheat with caramel notes. Some barley malt noted in the background. Lots of clove and banana, again with some bubblegun peeking out as well. A little tartness into the finish. Palate: Medium-light bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: Nice beer. A benchmark for the style and with good reason.
