Medium brown with tan head, fades to film. Aroma has plenty of yeasty esters, mostly banana, toasted grain, and some faint chocolate. Flavor is all banana and toasted grain up front, fades into a yeasty finish, without much else going on. Finishes clean, easy drink.

[Bottled. Monk’s Café, Stockholm] Light brown colour. Lively, grainy mouthfeel. Big on Co2. Brown fudge, like a dunkel. Fluffy body. Estery bananas.

Pure, yeasty aromas with some spice and ripe fruits: plum, pear, apple. Light brown coloration with a lively head. Smooth and maybe a little thin, but malty flavors of wheat and peat, a little banana and a little caramel. Pleasant beer.

Bottle. Pours cloudy dark orange-brown with a large fluffy off-white head. Aroma is banana, clove, a hint of caramel malt, and a slight bit of roastiness. Flavor is the same components, with some yeast and a bit of unfortunate sourness (bad bottle?). As compared to their normal hefeweizen, this actually has a weaker flavor all around, except for the addition of some caramel malt and a bit of roasted malt. Doesn’t really seem heavier---it’s substantially thinner, in fact. In any case, this isn’t bad, but their superb normal hefeweizen is a *much* better choice than this dunkelweizen.

Pours turbid deep copper with aroma of banana, clove, Bazooka. Tastes caramel malty, with the banana, wheaty yeasty malt, clove, and some toffee at the finish. Medium palate.
