A double bock beer that has what it takes. Not just for lovers of strong beer. With a malty aroma and great taste, our Korbinian is a true beer speciality. It goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as wild roasts and fowl.

Pours deep brown almost mahogany with substantial tan coloured head. Nose is really pleasant, showing caramel and maple syrup, also quite bready (reminded me of panatone...) Palate is more expressive (in terms of the stlye) displaying dark sweet malts with some more caramel and toffee coming into play. (still reminds me of panatone) Upon finishing, some smokey roasted malt comes into play accompanied by a touch of bitterness to round out the palate.

I like this one a lot. A smooth, rich doppelbock. Has a nice, slightly sweet, malty flavor. Thumbs up!

Very tasty and not too malty. Very good balance of dark, sweet, and smokey flavors. Definitely smooth.

Bottled. Pours dark brown with a medium brown head. Aroma is sweet wet malty bread with some caramel and slightly roasted notes. Flavor is a sweet candy, some caramel, strong syrup malts, some maple and bread. Has a syrupy mouth feel with a generous amount of malt.

wonderful aroma of sweet malt, poured a nice head that quickly disspated, but left lacing. dark ruby in color. taste is very sweet, slightly warming, but not overpowering. minimal roasted flavors, slightly burnt sugar taste. palate is smooth. overall a nice beer that is pleasant to drink. I would buy this again.

i was excited when i first saw this in my downtown beer store, but it seemed to fall when i popped it open at home... pours with a lack luster head, and has a molasses, toffee strange sugar aroma... 1 in 5 americans has genital herpes... some nice flavours and abv is well hidden but it doesn’t really do it for me... happy to try it, happier i won’t have to again!!

Chocolate-mahogany color with a thin light-tan head. Aroma is roasty grains, slight molasses, toffee, plums and dark cherries. Flavor is a beautiful rich bounty of chewy dried dark fruits, bits of toffee, chocolate - reminds me of some of the finer dark "sipping rums" I have enjoyed. Finish is fairly crisp for such a mouthful of flavors, but does leave some lingering roasty grains and hints of coffee. Wonderful doppelbock from teh "world’s oldest brewery."

Weihenstephaner Korbinian is a solid, crystal clear, brown-red beer with an oily, bubbly, beige head. Fresh sweet clean malt dominates the aroma. There are notes of bread and possibly raisins. It has a smooth medium body and a silky finish. It is lightly sweet and wooden in flavor. There are tastes of brown sugar, dark bread and resiny hops. It’s all soft and smooth.
