7/6/08 On draught at the Dog & Pony, Renton, Wa. Aroma is rich with dark fruit and very light molasses. Appearance is dark brown with a well maintained cream colored head. Flavor is rich with molasses and dark dried fruit, plums and some caramel. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a moderate carb texture and lingering grainy finish. Overall, very good and easy drinking for such a big beer.

Deep black/brown with thin head.toasted coffee and chocolate aromas are there, as well as vanilla and light caramel scents. Berry fruits and a toasted malty quality highlight the flavors. Good mouthfeel, and nice lingering and warming aftertaste.

Pours translucent mahogany into the glass, with a thin tan-ring head that diminishes to nothing. Big malty nose, with hints of tobacco and smoked meats. Sweet malt to the tongue, with some dates, slight smoke and a tiny toasted bitter to finish the pull. Very nice, warming malty brew, with good carbo levels that compliment a medium-soft mouthfeel. Decent complexities at work, and only get better as it warms toward room temperature, opening further and lending tighter integration between the nose and the flavors. Nice job on this one.

.5l bottle, medium head with some lace, smells of sweet dried fruits (mildly)- Tastes sweet, figgy, some underlying hop bitterness- very smooth mouthfeel, the carbonation is really fine. No alcohol heat even though it is 7.4% abv- very nice high quality beer.

Poured a dark amber brown with medium tan head that left a nice ring lacing on the glass. The smells were faint, but I picked up some burnt caramel and dark malts. Tasted a bit of coffee and chocolate, roasted malts, and hops. Thick and heavy, but silky smooth. Pour me another please, I could drink these all night. Serving type: bottle

This is a great double bock. It had a great deep color with a nice toasty and malty aroma. The balance is very nice as it has a nice light bitter finish. This is good stuff!

Bottle. Dark brown pour, nearly black, with a thick frothy tan head. Mild toasty aroma with some hop spice. Flavor is roasty, mildly nutty and has a nice chocolate taste. Really outstanding.

Bottle. Dark mahogany-red pour with a fluffy tan head. Up front malty nose - caramel, dates, yeast, and toasty with some vanilla. Flavor is similar, caramel malt dominates. Smooth bitterness in the finish, but thin and metallic. Nice but didn’t blow me away.
