No proper glassware, except for a couple of stiens, but I like to look at a new beer. Poured into an english pint... dark, rich brown that you could only barely see through when held up to the light, and then it gives off a deep red hue. Aroma reminded me of a good imperial stout, but more nutty and musty. Flavor was very nutty, earthy and had hints of chocolate, toffee and some vanilla in the finish. Very low hop character. To me it seemed like a brown ale coupled with a weak RIS. Can’t describe it exactly but there was something in the flavor that didn’t sit right with me. Overall it was okay, but a pleasure to look at and stick your nose in. kmweaver (2431), Sebastopol, California, USA

Pours a dark, hazy cola color; light tan head with fine-bubbled lacing. Loads of caramel, sticky dried fruits and hard candy in the aroma; a bit over the top on the sticky candy. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy caramel, dried fruits, and raisins; a bit drier, and with less intense candy presence than the aroma suggests; well-composed beer, just not something I can see myself drinking a lot of. Lengthy finish: caramel, candy, and some sweet dried dark fruit. ryan (1775), Beltsville, Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 17, 2008 Hazy brown body with a large off-white head. Sugary toffee nose with raisins and figs. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter with light roast, some chocolate, lots of toffee, cookie dough, raisins and figs. Medium/full body is very soft with moderate, gentle carbonation. llcooldave (319), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | May 16, 2008 Nice brown leather color with a touch of ruby thrown in. Sweet malt aroma.
Beautifully complex flavor: bready & nutty with a touch of dried fruit thrown in. Normally I’m not a bit fan of the dried fruit flavor but this has a slight bitter dryness that really balances out the sweetness. Korbinian is a practically a perfect beer. Dangle (31), Cullowhee, North Carolina, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 13, 2008 Dark brown color with a hint of red. Smells like chocolate and joy. Tastes like chocolate and carmel. it leaves a little bit of lacing down the glass, oh yea, it has a small of white head. I like it. Angeloregon (2024), Portland, Oregon, USA

Fruity, mildly tart, and earthy nose. Lots of malt complexity. Taste of dark fruits, grains, stickiness. Robust, rich, and everchanging flavor. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 9, 2008 Updated: May 25, 2008Bottle from Utobeer. Deep, ruddy brown with a decent, but short-lived, off-white head. Sweet fruit cake aroma of raisins, marzipan, nuts and toffee. Red fruit and caramel flavours overwhelmed by an unpleasant boiled sweet, pasteurised edge. Finish was short and dry, with the alcohol fairly prominent. Disappointing. jjuf1853 (471), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 8, 2008 Bottle pours a rich mohogany brown with a foamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, brown sugar, caramel, and raisins. Flavor is sweet at first with loads of roasted malt flavor and followed by a bitter coffee finish. Very smooth mouthfeel, but slightly syrupy. Overall a very nice beer.
