Weihenstephaner Korbinian

Bottle pours a rich mohogany brown with a foamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, brown sugar, caramel, and raisins. Flavor is sweet at first with loads of roasted malt flavor and followed by a bitter coffee finish. Very smooth mouthfeel, but slightly syrupy. Overall a very nice beer.

50cl bottle. Trade with Bierkoning. Thanks. Pours unclear brown with a creamy white head. Aroma and taste is sweet of roasted malts, loads of caramel, rye-bread & dark dried fruits. Mouthfeel is smooth, filling, slick & soft. Slight syrupy & sugary but a very nice roast takes over. In the best doppelbock category! Super quaffable!

Nice, hearty mouthfeel to this fine doppelbock. There are vary tasty roasted malts dominate the taste, but there are also dark fruits and a bitterness mixed in. It has a complex taste that changes as you sip it, as it warms, and in the aftertaste.

Dark brown beer, clear character, 1 inch head, lasts 5 minutes. Smells like dark roasted malts. Tastes like dark wheat malt made with a lagering yeast. Full flavored, and pleasant density, and texture. A prime example of the style. Light malty finish.

After taste is a little sticky...the before is a little straw,malty. Clean for 7.4% abv. Way to go.. open since 1014. Dark and even.

Pours a dark reddish brown. Aroma is faint of toffee and caramel. The flavor is much more pronounced, smoked apple wood, toffee, cranberry, caramel, and almond. Medium bodied and slightly syrupy. Real nice flavor.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle into a pilsener glass. Very pretty auburn colored pour, remindining me of a redhead I once new. Creamy white head settles on the top, and lasts all the way down the tall slender glass. Aromas typical of a dopplebock, and not overly pronounced. Sweet malts dominated, with brown sugar and toffee overtones. Almost a Heath bar in a glass. Wonderful taste. Sweet malts prevail, but the beer is not overly syrupy. There is no doubt that this is a doppelbock. Slight alcoholicy bitterness lingers slightly on the palate. Creamy, smooth, lightly carbonated mouthfeel. I could drink these all night! Overall, this is an exceptional beer, worthy of its high rating. Highly recommended!

Bottled, very cold. Pours similar to a cola. Nose is roasted malts and some toffee. Taste is the same with a bit of alcohol evident towards the end. One of the few Weihenstephaners that didn’t have clove flavors. Finish is bitter. Good beer, above average drinkability, but left me wanting more..
