A double bock beer that has what it takes. Not just for lovers of strong beer. With a malty aroma and great taste, our Korbinian is a true beer speciality. It goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as wild roasts and fowl.

Bottled. Dark and figgy brown sugar smell. Small lacing and tiny head. It is smooth at out of refrig temps but gets really sugary as it warms up. The reviewer below says its not as sweet on the tongue....I think differently, this is very sweet. Maybe that is the age of the bottles?

50cl bottle at home: Brilliant crisp deep ruby through and through. A tall tan caramel head works its way down to a thin film. Full aromas of rich brown sugar and toffee drizzled onto cherries and topped with chopped roasted nuts. A touch of coffee and cocoa powder add to the roast. The roast qualities bring out a subtle smoke or firewood aroma. The cherry aroma does have a slight cough syrup quality. Thankfully this beer is not as sweet on the tongue as it is in the nose. A nice balance between malt, fruit, and roast grains. Fruit and malt intermingle up front while the roast hangs out in the back, only coming forward towards the finish before alcohol puts him back in his place. A slight dry apple skin character shows up sometimes in the middle. There is also an woody, earthiness that seems to come from the roast as it dries out in the finish. Nice.

A clear dark red/brown colored beer, with a nice beige foamy head. It disappears quit quickly. An aroma of milk chocolate, some cherries, a touche of nutes. The taste is light roated malts, some vanilla and caramel. A medium body. It has a mild hop and bitternes. Not a bad beer.

Smagt 19/4 2008 hos Lars. Dejlig rund og blød i smagen med en smule karamel og toffee.

Dark brown pour with a medium beige head. Sweet roasted malt and caramel aroma. Nice flavors as well, including toffee, fruit, caramel and roasted nuts. A good brew, but not my favorite style.

Red brown with a fine dense head. Sweet aroma filled with malty goddness and straw. Flavours of chocolate, roasted malts, caramel, roasted bread, nuts and berries, but also some alcohol.

Pours a dark brown with a bubbly tan head. Very malty and caramel sweet aroma with a little fruit. Roasted malt and coffee flavor, almost finishes like an alcoholic fruit cake. Very smooth and enjoyable, alcohol is well hidden but does slowly become evident.

Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Dark brown body, healthy head. Sweet and coffee nose. Toffee and coffee malty flavours. Really smooth and enjoyable. Extra points for cool label.
