Pours a nice dark brown color with some copper highlights. Light tan head. Nose is brown sugar, caramel, and a hint of roasted malt. Taste is very muted as I only pick up sugar and some malt. Very hard to taste anything. The alcohol content is well hidden I will say that.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head and a smell of caramel, brown sugar, honey and malt. The flavor is malty sweet with brown sugar and a hoppy bite. I would have liked it a bit less hoppy. Good, but nothing more than that

Pours a golden amber with a tight beige head. Aroma is caramely, doughy and sweet with no significant hoppiness. Flavor is rich with caramel and toasted malts, ripe fruits, a faint hop bite, and some smoky undertones. The finish is sweet and lingering with mild alcohol warmth. Extremely well balanced; bold without being overpowering. Very nice!

Poured into my Eichhof bier mug. Pours a dark transparent brown with highlights ranging from ruby to orange. Nice fluffy white head of two fingers. Not much lacing. Nose is very dark, with a kind of fruitcake-like sweet doughy maltiness. Some milk chocolate influence as well. Tastes very sweet, with a lot of rich malt and sugary dark fruit notes like date and prune. The chocolate note comes out in the flavor, as well as a distinct flavor of fresh grainy bread. Very smooth on the palate, with great carbonation and a nice medium-full body. A bit too sweet to be incredibly drinkable.

Dark dark red when held up to the light. At first its a bit heavy and sweet, but its gets smoother as you drink it. Funny how that happens with big beers. Its got a fruity, estery flavor. Not much bitterness at all.

Pour is ruddy dark brown with a thin sticky light brown head...smell is bright and sweet with some dates, brown sugar, cola, definitely some signature yeast...thick and soft mouthfeel, with some nice malty chewiness...the initial taste is very uninspiring...sweetness, with molasses and caramel then just prune juice...I don’t really get any of the smoke that some of the other raters mention...some nutty peanut skin flavors toward the finish...leaving sort of a copper/penny aftertaste...

Raisin, brown sugar, and milk chocolate nose. Deep burnt orange/brown. Large long lasting head. Deep smooth sweetness. Nicely rounded...
