Pint bottle poured into my trusty stein- poured semi transparent light black, brown head laced away, aroma of sweetened dark molasses, caramel, and malt. Hits the mouth with a medium body, some smoke quality to it in the middle intertwined with sweetness, heavy roasted malt notes on backend. Knew I should have bought more than one bottle...

Flaske. Mørkebrun øl, næsten stout agtig i farven. Sød og maltet i duften. Dette gik endnu mere igennem i smagen. Typisk doppelbock men nuancerne druknede en smule i den søde maltbase.

Bottle Black pour with decent tan head. Slightly sweet aroma and flavor. Actually smells and tastes pretty schwartzbier-ish. Good brew though, enjoyable.

This is a pretty good doppelbock. Pours with a nice cream colored head. Dark brown beer with malt, smoke some chocolate (?). Middle- to highly rated doppel.

A nice doppelbock. A little too thin and watery to be great. Aroma is good. Strong caramel malt and sticky Sugar Daddies. Pour was a beautiful deep red/amber with no head. Taste was nice and sweet but not full enough. Strong caramel malt with a hint of roasted malt and some smoke. Doppelbocks are hit or miss with me and this is leaning towards the good side.

(German) Very Dark Brown with Med-Tan Head. The Beer has a Smoky chocolate or Molasses taste!!!! Soft Palate, with a nice finish. Damn good stuff. :)

Pours a dark reddish-brown with an orange-brown head. Aroma has some meat in there, maybe smoked salmon...? Lots of power in there, pretty impressive. A hint of dark fruit appears as it warms up. Tastes like beef jerky... pretty subtle, but very good. Nice and clean finish, too. My only problem is a slight chalkiness in the mouth feel. Really classy beer. I’ll be visiting this one again.

This is one of the best Dopplebock beers I’ve ever had. Sweet, malty, an undertone of raisins with a good overall mouth feel. A definite buy.
