Dark and sweet and full of malt, this beer is exactly what it is. Wish i would have had some food with it, the natural sweet darkness would have been a nice compliment to lots of things. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 8, 2008 Dark brown with the thinnest of white heads. Sweet, fruity malt aroma ... very much a dopplebock nose. Flavor is lightly sweet malt: dark, rich and maybe a tad earthy with some caramel and ripe fruit. Soft and subtle mouthfeel. Lightly smoked/roasted bittersweet finish. Nice. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA

Big and malty, fruity and sweet with excellent dark caramel malt flavor. Huge, soft palate. Finishes very delicate for such a large beer. Quite graceful. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 1, 2008 The pour is nearly black with a small tan head. The nose is dark fruit, toffee, maple and a few I just can’t seem to grasp. The flavor is well balanced and I would to try this again. BeMerry (37), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
