Commercial Description:
A double bock beer that has what it takes. Not just for lovers of strong beer. With a malty aroma and great taste, our Korbinian is a true beer speciality. It goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as wild roasts and fowl.

Pours from the bottle a dark brown color with a ruby red tint, but somewhat opaque. A big, foamy and creamy tan head that had great retention. A mostly sweet aroma with some good fruit notes, including raisins and maybe prunes, maybe somewhat nutty. The taste is sweet at the onset with a mildly bitter finish, and more fruit notes. Palate is largely creamy, without a lot of carbonation, only subtle fizzyness. I liked this beer a good bit, wasn’t really sure what to expect and was pleased.

Pours a brown/copper color. Hints of sweet malt, slight molasses, and nuts. Taste is sweet with slight smoke and dry, nutty finish. I was surprised by this brewer. I’ve never had a beer from them. I purchased a gift pack that has five of their bees in it. I am looking forward to the othes. Petty good.

16.9oz. bottle. Pours a cloudy, dark copper with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Heavy aromas of roasted malts, molasses, and some hints of campfire smoke. Flavor is of malts, some spice, and caramel with a sweet, nutty finish. Mouthfeel is soft and smooth, and the 7.4% is hidden very well. Great brew.

Smells like...dark German beer. Appearance is dark brown - almost black. The flavour is of a complex palate. The palate has definite notes of malt, with a sweetishness of caramel & chocolate. Overall, good. May be better served a bit colder.

Strong smoky, clove aroma - perfect for this style. Yes, it’s a doppelbock, but there’s the "dunkel" gene in this one and those aromas come shining through. Malty flavor on the front of the palate and smoky flavor (with that touch of bitterness) on the back of the palate. Very pleasant beer with some balance. Weihenstephaner does it again - they always deliver excellent brews.

Dark reddish brown. Not much carbonation and just a bit of lace. Sweetish, satisfying malt flavor. Aroma of molasses. Very good beer.

.5cL bottle poured into dimpled mug. Dark mahogany colour with a thin tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and molasses. Flavour was nice, sweet caramel and molasses. Maybe a touch heavy in the finish but enjoyable.
