FastEddie (178), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Nov 18, 2007 Dark reddish brown. Not much carbonation and just a bit of lace. Sweetish, satisfying malt flavor. Aroma of molasses. Very good beer. BelgianBeerGal (1276), Sabbatical in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Oct 31, 2007 .5cL bottle poured into dimpled mug. Dark mahogany colour with a thin tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and molasses. Flavour was nice, sweet caramel and molasses. Maybe a touch heavy in the finish but enjoyable. Bullit (1300), Glasgow, Scotland Oct 31, 2007 Dark ruby-red colour. Slightly smoked aroma. Flavours are smoked as well, with caramel and chocolate. Finishes sweet. GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Oct 29, 2007 16.9 oz bottle. Poured a clear dark brown-orange color. Head was one finger high, light tan, and left a bit of lace behind. Aroma was of malty molasses accented by a hint of campfire. Slightly sweet and full bodied. Molasses came out again in the flavor with some brown sugar and a splash of alcohol. jfenglish (198), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 28, 2007 Bottle- 16.9 oz....No head, creamy brown pour. Aroma of a porter- sweet and chocolate. Chocolate and smoke on the nose and tongue, bit of mustiness lingers. Rich, complex, nice. derst27 (35), Hackettstown, New Jersey, USA Oct 23, 2007 Nutty aroma with a dark, rich color and not much head. Ver nutty and full flavor from start to finish. Rich, smooth aftertaste containing hints of cocoa and coffee. SDalkoholic (1186), Chula Vista, California, USA Oct 22, 2007 Bottle purchased at Pizza Port bottle shop. This dunkles appeared and gave off the same impression a glass of soda pop would have because of the light tinted brown and fizzy film of head. In the aroma, a mild dose of caramel malt and chocolate notes can be found. I would say the flavor is the same as the description I mentioned about the aroma, but it will become more diluted and thin. Still a sweet and soft dunkles to be had, although, I won’t be picking this up again. polomagnifico (532), Saginaw, Michigan, USA Oct 20, 2007 1pt 0.9oz bottle. Aroma is of sweet malts and yeasts. Notes of bread, caramel, wood, and malt. Large tan foamy head that left good lacing and mostly diminished. Dark brown/ruby hue but clear. Flavor is mild but sweet and spicy with a medium finish. Palate is chewy and medium bodied. Watery and soft. A good woody, earthy, bready brew that really hit the spot. Worth a try.
