May 24, 2007 Rated 10/20/06: Found at a new store down in the big city to the south. Brown pour, very brown mild head and not much lacing. Aroma is of bakery sweet rolls, rather malty and sugary. Filling mouthfeel, real smooth finish bites a little. Flavor is too sugary sweet for my liking, but this being a dopplebock it’s not a surprise. Bready with decent malt content it’s one and out for this brew.

May 20, 2007 Dark mahogany and a rather excessive and frothy head. Sweet and malty aroma with just a hint of nuttiness. The flavor is forcefully malty with some notes of sweetness... candy or caramel like. The finish is cloying and almost salty, but this is a good beer.

May 18, 2007 A really good beer, very malty aroma and flavor. Not very bitter. Kind of creamy mouthfeel. Tastes almost like a mild chocolatey dessert. A must have for fans of German bocks.

May 10, 2007 A slightly hazed medium brown pour. A smell almost like sweet hay that has been barn dried. Pours the malt at first that goes to an almost light sour aroma. An almost thick sweetness that reminds me a bit of dates or raisins. A very smooth even palate and mouthfeel. A tad on the frothy side but overall very good.
