Dark cloudy amber with a night tight head, this beer has a taste that jogs my memory to something I can’t place. Nice full flavor, roasty and fruity and not over alcoholly. Got this on recommendation from beerlord, who is a bock fiend. I need to try more of these. JorisPPattyn (5163), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 9, 2007 Very dark ruby red beer with a dark amber big-bubbled head. Diacetyl, toffee, buttertoffees, and a bit of fresh greenery, molasses. And raw grain. Not very sweet, lots of roastiness, burnt parts of the roast. Ends dry, even just off-woody. Even not too sweet, it’s sticky on the lips. Medium to well-bodied. Nice Doppelbock, no doubt. Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England
