Dusty, woody and slightly metallic malty aroma; deeply chocolaty with strong coffee notes, a little grapey; sweet with a little dark roast bitterness, enough to keep it from being cloying; creamy body; almost roasty, lingering, but smooth, finish.

Weihenstephan is a synonym of beer quality: there is a famous institute for brewing. the bavarian experts make this very dark and strong malty beer.

16.9 oz bottle. Dark cloudy amber with a night tight head, this beer has a taste that jogs my memory to something I can’t place. Nice full flavor, roasty and fruity and not over alcoholly. Got this on recommendation from beerlord, who is a bock fiend. I need to try more of these.

Very dark ruby red beer with a dark amber big-bubbled head. Diacetyl, toffee, buttertoffees, and a bit of fresh greenery, molasses. And raw grain. Not very sweet, lots of roastiness, burnt parts of the roast. Ends dry, even just off-woody. Even not too sweet, it’s sticky on the lips. Medium to well-bodied. Nice Doppelbock, no doubt.

Bottle (from Bitter Virtue, BB Aug 07). Toffee and chocolate and lightly roasted malts. Nutty sweetness in mouth with hints of alcohol. Finishes slightly sweet and syrupy. Not too bad but not great.

Nice deep ruby color with a thick tan head. Big malty aroma with a touch of roast present. Big malt flavor, again with a touch of roast. Medium mouth feel. You would never know this has a >7% alcohol content.A Wonderful Lager

Bottle, .5L. Serious head. Reddish brownish appearance. Malty aroma and a little bit of fruit. Pretty decent overall.
