Damian (5), Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA does not count Jul 16, 2006 Pours a deep caramel color with a large head that fades quickly. Aroma is quite intense and matches the taste of the beer. Rich, nutty, chocolatey, toffee taste. Sweet and creamy. Oily, silky smooth consistency. Alcohol taste is not very noticeable. Makes for a nice dessert/after dinner drink. Overall, the best dopplebock I have had to date. Aggie80 (708), Michigan, USA Jul 15, 2006 Dark brown cola color with an off white head and some lacing. There is a definite malt and yeastflavor with a smooth earthy finish. A hearty brew that stood up to the brussel sprouts I had with the meal. glkaiser (1150), Seattle, Washington, USA Jul 9, 2006 Tasted at SIB. brown with a thick creamy beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, bread, and dark fruits. Rich malt and caramel tastes. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA Jul 5, 2006 Big, molasses-sweet beer. Pours rudy-brown with a small tan head. Caramel aroma. Thick caramel and malt flavor that seems to coat your tongue. Alcoholic bite in the finish. Exceptionally smooth and just heavy enough to enjoy. stison42 (318), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA Jul 2, 2006 Updated: Jan 22, 2007Brown. Sweet caramally taste. Smooth. Reminded me of a Belhaven Wee Heavy. Very Good but not great. Storm (2685), Amager, Denmark Jun 29, 2006 50 cl bottle. No yeast at the bottom. Reddish dark brown colour with a little head. Very weak aroma with hints of caramel, sweetness and maltness. Sweet flavour of chocolate and malt very clean and ends up little alcoholic. EithCubes (2140), Indiana, USA Jun 20, 2006 Bottle. Opaque ruby-rosewood pour with a short yellow-tan head. Sweet fruity aroma, grape, malty, and a touch of alcohol. Typical bock taste with a little more dark malt than expected. Full-bodied and velvety smooth; not really creamy or oily, but slightly warming. Alcohol is pretty well hidden. Fruity (grape, mostly) aftertaste. Really pleasant and mild - I’d say this is a very refined Doppelbock which seduces you with subtle flavor rather than slamming you with it. ancherrera (161), Cape Coral, Florida, USA Jun 19, 2006 No hops present whatsover. Tasted like Malta. Too sweet for my taste. Beautiful dark ruby color with foamy tan head.
