What can I say except this is one heck of a good tasting Dopplebock!! This beer poured a light brown to a tan medium head. Dark brown body. Some carbonation was observed. It had a dark brown body. The taste was simply excellent! It has an extremely smooth taste, no bitterness or aftertaste. Darn, this was one heck of a good drink!! More please? TheBeerGod (3152), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 3, 2003 Number 400! Pours a deep browned red. Nice tall tan puffy head. Nose is sweetened with malt. There's something else hiding in the nose, maybe caramel or toffee and almost a sour-ish hint. Hard for me to pick out. The taste is good. Sweet malt with a chocolate and oatmeal cookie mix. Smooth as silk finish Will look towards having this with my yearly Oktoberfest gathering. PorterPounder (3137), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 31, 2003 Sweet malty, molasses like aroma with a hint of nuttiness. Little to no head on top of a beautiful nut brown body. Excellent malty flavor - just the right amount of sweetness. Alcohol is hidden extremely well - appears just a bit in the aftertaste though. Overall, an excellent dopplebock - hard to find - even where other Weihenstephaners are sold. KnutAlbert (3127), Oslo, Norway

Head was one finger high, light tan, and left a bit of lace behind. Aroma was of malty molasses accented by a hint of campfire. Slightly sweet and full bodied. Molasses came out again in the flavor with some brown sugar and a splash of alcohol. caesar (3034), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands

Roasted malty taste. Bitter palate, like a lot of German beers. Rerate Better, maybe perfect temperature. But this bock is quite good actually. Almost a combination between the dunkel and a bockbeer. Malty, bit fruity and also heavy on the stomach.
