Commercial Description:
A double bock beer that has what it takes. Not just for lovers of strong beer. With a malty aroma and great taste, our Korbinian is a true beer speciality. It goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as wild roasts and fowl.

Sampled at Utrechts Bokbierfestival Dark brown color. Malty aroma. Roasted malty taste. Bitter palate, like a lot of German beers. Rerate Better, maybe perfect temperature. But this bock is quite good actually. Almost a combination between the dunkel and a bockbeer. Malty, bit fruity and also heavy on the stomach.

Bottle from total wine. Pours a dark brown with a nice tan head. Aroma is malty and delicious. Lots of caramel, toffee, dried fruit and brown sugar. Flavor is sweet and totally malt driven. Raisins, toffee, light roast. Really a good beer. Dont know why it took me so damn long to drink and rate it!

Bottle. Chocolate caramel, molasses, and malt aroma. Reddish brown color with decent head for a doppelbock. Sweet prune and German rye bread flavor. Moderate bitter finish but little astringency. Very smooth. Not the strongest flavored doppelbock but that’s what I really like about it. Very nice.

Keg, Amsterdam BBF2003. Ruby red, good creamy beige head and moderate condition. Good bocky melanoidin and roast barley notes in the nose, smooth mouthfilling toffee and cream in the mouth and a sweet finish with a delicate prickle of hop bitterness. At a festival that celebrates just one basic beer type, it becomes difficult to find favour or fault with any one beer. Imagine twenty Dutchmen playing the same tune on a variety of trumpets, some play the tune as written, some with a flourish or two. Then up stands a German, produces a tuba and plays the same tune in an Umpah stylee and everyone takes notice. A big brash tuba of a beer in a sea of trumpets.

Bottled. Clear reddish brown colour with a small beige foam. Sweet and almost syrupy aroma of brown sugar, dried dark fruit, marzipan and nuts. Full sweet malty and sugary flavour of fudge, milky chocolate, syrup and butter. Long cloyingly sweet aftertaste of dark syrup, almonds and alcohol. Way too sweet, almost like a dark "malt likka".

Bottle. Pours with a light brown, bubbly head and a very dark mahogany body. Good lace. Aroma of bananas, rummy, alcohol, patent leather, chocolate, raisins, cinnamon, molasses, and caramelized mini wheats. Taste chocolate, light coffee roast, wheat, banana, vanilla, and sweetness. syrupy mouthfeel and light bubbles.

Bottle. Brown beer with a big beige head. Aroma of toffee and malt. Caramel and raisin flavors. Malt, fruit, some spice. Nice complexity, but easy to drink.
