16.9 oz bottle, via EDA. Pours a nice dark chestnut brown body with a one inch frothy beige head that slowly settled to a thin film. The nose is sweet lightly roasted and toasted malts with a touch of nuttiness. Rather smooth flavor with just a little bit of residual sweetness, not enough to be sticky or under attenuated tasting. Light roast coffee, toasted malt, a bit of some plum like fruitiness on the back end. A little bit of noticeable alcohol and husky graininess on the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a fairly clean finish, moderate soft fizzy carbonation. Overall a pretty nice beer.

500ml bottle pours Dark brown with a pretty fair tan head that stays well and laces the sides of the glass. Aromas of caramel, and toasted malts, some nutty aroma as well. Flavor is caramel, nuts, roasted malts, yeast, and some raisins. Smooth creamy texture. Not bad..

500mL bottle, courtesy of ryan. Thanks! Pours a dark, hazy cola color; light tan head with fine-bubbled lacing. Loads of caramel, sticky dried fruits and hard candy in the aroma; a bit over the top on the sticky candy. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: chewy caramel, dried fruits, and raisins; a bit drier, and with less intense candy presence than the aroma suggests; well-composed beer, just not something I can see myself drinking a lot of. Lengthy finish: caramel, candy, and some sweet dried dark fruit.

A malty aroma wafts from my glass. This beer is a deep dark amber color, it shows fairly clear when held up to the light. This beer is just wonderfully malty. Lots of caramelized malt taste, as well as a bit of chocolate. There is a certain fruitiness here that is more from the malt presence than any yeast character. This is a nice clean lager that really lets the malt character shine through.

Bottle from Kevin... Happy, biatch?

Pours a lush mahogany with an aroma of molasses and plum. Nice head that leaves a clinging lace. Flavor is bitter molasses with a nice undertone of smooth, sweet jazz. Chuck Mangione is my real father. I don’t know why I wrote that; don’t ask. Free-form writing can kick ass. Palate is thick and coats the tongue well. This beer demands you to spend time with it. Thanks, Kevin. And no, I won’t sleep with you. Ever.

Bottle (from Bitter Virtue, BB Aug 07). Toffee and chocolate and lightly roasted malts. Nutty sweetness in mouth with hints of alcohol. Finishes slightly sweet and syrupy. Not too bad but not great.

Bottle 50 cl (thanks rickgordon). Clear dark reddish brown, beige head. Roasted malt aroma, along with dried fruits. Full bodied and smooth. Well balanced with an initial mild sweetness, and a dry and moderately bitter finish.

Cloudy, hazy brown. Very unfiltered appearance. Aroma of nothing but malt. Anyone who is scared of beer because it is bitter will be scared of this because it smellls so sweet. Flavors of dark dried fruit, malt, molasses, Mostly roasted malt flavors in the finish. Very balanced texture. Rich and Malty. Very full bodied!
