Chestnut brown colour. Rich malt aroma - toffee, some light earth and brown sugar. Soft body. Pleasant molassesy note. Genteel, understated elegance.

Dark chestnut color. Aroma of unmalted cereals and malt. Good body strength, good caramel flavor, but the final is a bit stale. In the final there is basically dark caramel.

Beautiful amber color. Light aroma (malt, caramel)… more interesting flavor, with a good malty structure and a balanced, long final.

Clear dark amber with a huge beige good lasting head. Sweet aroma with overripe rotten fruits, roasted malt and caramel notes. Sweet flavour with roasted malt, rye bread, caramel and overripe fruits. Warming alcohol towards the end.

Brown body with healthy tan head. Medium sweet aroma, some dark fruit (raisin), smidgen of caramel. Taste is sweet, grape, malty, and somewhat cloying.

Dark ruby red color, small steady beige head. Rye bread, roasted malty nose, very intensive aroma with hints of tar also. Sweetish brew, full-bodied, sticky mouthfeel, reasonably low carbonation. Licorice and fudge or some other candy in the flavor. After being in the sweeter side, long roasted aftertaste rides in. Alcohol is quite hidden but leaves warming feeling. Super and very complex dobbelbock. How about the barrel matured version of this?

500ml bottle from Utobeer. Deep ruby colour with thin deep beige head. Lovely fruity malt aroma. A dunkles starkbier apparently. Decent dark beer with decnt dark cherry/plum/grapey flavour. Bit bready, some roasty toasty malts. So do I like it? Well it’s not bad, but not really sure. I mean the beer is good, just not sure it’s in my zone.

Dark brown with a nice head. The aroma is malty and sweet, but not cloying. The flavour has notes of roasted malt, candy sugar, caramel and it has a sweet citrussy counter weight. It’s very charming, a bit heavy in it’s sweetness though... 2044
