Aroma has rich chocolate and cocoa malt (as in a malt shake) - very rich aroma. Medium think mouthfeel with just a little soft carbonation. Taste starts off rich and has roasted chocolate malt - hints of toffee and cream are mixed in there. The finish has spiciness and hoppiness - odd finish for a dopplebock. Overall a truly great beer. The flavor is malty but not overdone with a light palate. Above average, but not on the same scale as their wheat beers. kook (2034), Perth, Western Australia, Australia

Nice nutty malt aroma with some chocolate and molasses notes. Medium mouthfeel, not as smooth as expected though, a little watery on the finish. Nice sweet malt start with a balanced mid and finish. Lingering roast flavour. Nice stuff charlotte (2034), Vanløse, Denmark

The very nice aroma has roast caramel malt and plum. Loads of sweet caramel malts give it a nice full body and some dark fruit notes lend some complexity to the taste. There’s a hint of mild hops bitterness in the finish that with the roast flavors put me in mind of coffee just a little bit. I definitely enjoyed this beer. They’ve really nailed the style. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 15, 2003 Sugary caramel malt aroma, some brief hints of raisin, date and perhaps licorice, along with a faint yeasty banana component. Deep reddish brown color and a slight head, fed by very tiny bubbles. Flavor is decidedly malty and sweet, plenty of maple sugar, caramel and toffee, with a bready, nutty and very gently hopped finish. Thick palate, bordering on syrupy, with a low level of effervescence. Shouldn't this be known as "Korbiniator" or something? FROTHINGSLOSH (2025), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA

Sampled from a 16.9 oz brown bottle this beer pours a rich mahogany color with a large tan head that lingers. There is a dry, malty scent. The texture is very smooth with a creamy, malty flavor that lingers on the tongue. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA
