Foamy off-white head deep dark ruby body. Big sweet malty aroma. The flavor is lots of sweet caramel bread and even some dark wheat notes. Soft full body. A nice dopplebock.

Big thanks to joss for the bottle. Looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Very fine foam. Tastes very strong and malty, well balanced finish. Very drinkable and good doppelbock!

Pours a dark brown in the glass and shows red/ruby in the light. The head is medium, creamy, beige. The aroma is sweet, malty, caramel notes, sweet spice (nutmeg?). The flavor is rich and malty, sweet, light alcohol, caramel, earthy, raisin, goooood, gets better as it warms. Average palate, not too carbonated but not thin or syrupy. Excellent dopple.

Bottle. Pours a very deep dark brown with a nice frothy tan head that leaves good lacing. Sweet and malty aroma with caramel, dark fruit, chocolate, raisins and some nuttiness. Smooth and very rich flavor of sweet caramel malts, molasses, chocolate, raisins and brown sugar with a medium to full body and has a sweet dry roasty finish. Awesome brew

500 ml, lot #9137. Beautiful mahogany with ruby tint. Huge creamy head that settles in and leaves some frosting. Big molasses and dates on the nose; slight cocoa and alcohol aromas. Sweet molasses-cocoa front is toned down nicely by an earthy, woodsy dryness that turns the taste to dark fruit, oak, and bitterish green herbs for the finish. Medium body is fairly smooth and finishes dry and slightly astringent.

16.9oz bottle, no date. Pours a clear ruby with a one finger fading beige head. Aroma of molasses, brown sugar, grain, nuts, and buttery toffee--smells fairly sweet. Flavor has the addition of a bit of milk chocolate, as well as all of the aforementioned aromas into a dry finish. There was also a hint of salted hazelnuts. Bitterness was minimal, no alcohol detected. Medium to full body with light to moderate carbonation--pretty smooth. Very good beer, and one of the better doppelbocks I’ve had lately.

I was surprised by this cheap bottle!! Dark brown with a sweet nose of thick malts and a little hint of the alcohol. Very smooth and sweet without going overly nasty with sweetness. Thick and malty, with more alcoholic notes as it warms up. Veery nice, I'll remember this one next Winter!
