nice and rich, with lots of caramel and a mild amount of hops, it oozes substance with lots of room left over in the after taste. a great beer to add to your collection.

Pours a dark ruby/red. Nice persistent head of about 1/4 inch. Sweet, malty caramel notes. Nice roasted caramel flavor with creamy soft palate.

Thanks to whoever brought this to the Toronto Christmas Party ’04. Creamy brown appearance. Rasiny honey nose. Dry with some grape tannin in the finish.

Light malty aroma, good head. Medium bodied with a nice nutty feel to it, and some touches of alcohol. A little bit of a sugary taste present also. Another good beer from these guys.

Tasted 6/24/09. 500ml bottle. Filtered with a deep very dark ruby amber hue. Clinging khaki head. Sweet nose with hints of cookies and caramel. Cinnamon toast and maple syrup. Diverse, yet faint aromatic emanations.. Medium to full bodied with a nice sticky plummy flavor. Lotta dark fruit and a creamy texture. Roasty and toasty, with that sticky sweetbreads flavor. Alas, a bit o the butterscotch. Age? Beefy caramel note. Touch cocoa and fudge. This is everything I’ve come to expect from this style. Malt dominant with a minuscule amount of hops. This is a good beer. And really, who doesn’t like a good Doppelbock?

Bottle: Aroma is fruity and vinous, some malts. Sweet. Color of ruby and mahoghany with a nice beige head. Tastes sweet, but with a husky malt presence. Wheat tones and a little dark fruit. Some alcohol can be detected, but not in a distracting manner. Thanks Buckdich.

Buying this one was a no brainer to me, especialy considering how good the hefe is. Pours out brown, with a rich smoky smell coming from it. Taste is malty, rich, creamy, and just all around good. One of the better dopplebocks I have had before. Nice one.

Deep amber color with a beige head. The taste is strong malts with some sweetness and slight alcohol in the finish.
