| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 25, 2009 Tasted 6/24/09. 500ml bottle. Filtered with a deep very dark ruby amber hue. Clinging khaki head. Sweet nose with hints of cookies and caramel. Cinnamon toast and maple syrup. Diverse, yet faint aromatic emanations.. Medium to full bodied with a nice sticky plummy flavor. Lotta dark fruit and a creamy texture. Roasty and toasty, with that sticky sweetbreads flavor. Alas, a bit o the butterscotch. Age? Beefy caramel note. Touch cocoa and fudge. This is everything I’ve come to expect from this style. Malt dominant with a minuscule amount of hops. This is a good beer. And really, who doesn’t like a good Doppelbock? jake65 (1722), Williston, North Dakota, USA
