Mar 19, 2006 Buying this one was a no brainer to me, especialy considering how good the hefe is. Pours out brown, with a rich smoky smell coming from it. Taste is malty, rich, creamy, and just all around good. One of the better dopplebocks I have had before. Nice one.

Jul 12, 2008 i was excited when i first saw this in my downtown beer store, but it seemed to fall when i popped it open at home... pours with a lack luster head, and has a molasses, toffee strange sugar aroma... 1 in 5 americans has genital herpes... some nice flavours and abv is well hidden but it doesn’t really do it for me... happy to try it, happier i won’t have to again!!

May 16, 2004 Deep amber color with a beige head. The taste is strong malts with some sweetness and slight alcohol in the finish.

May 10, 2007 Pours a deep amber color with a slight off white head. Aroma is sweet malts and molasses. Flavor is sweet and roasted malts.

Jan 18, 2009 Bottle from BevMo costing $2.69. Poured a rich red with nice foamy white head and good lacing. Nose of malts and ripe fruit. Smooth mouthfeel. Very rich flavor with lots of fruit flavors. Bitter finish. Very nice beer.

Jul 29, 2007 Brown color with a nice sized, but quickly fading beige head. Thick, malty aroma with some nutty, dark fruit detectable. Taste has a nice sugary, bready sweetness with a bit of dark fruit, and smoky flavors. Seemed a tad thin and watery. Nice D-Bock thats true to style.

Jan 31, 2006 Outstanding craft here. Very, very enjoyable. The pour into my goblet had an eruptive head that left incredible lacing. The aroma was nice and malty. Appearance was a mahogany brown with a tan head. Very minimal hop in the flavor, strong in the malt department but not TOO malty. A very filling beverage to say the least! Very high marks for this one."
