.... smells German - MALT! Nothing too exciting going on here, but a well made dark, roasty brew that’s helping me keep the faith that fall wil eventually make it here ....

Clear ruby red, sticky, frothy head. Malty, dark fruit aroma with some spicy hops. Big and malty, fruity and sweet with excellent dark caramel malt flavor. Huge, soft palate. Finishes very delicate for such a large beer. Quite graceful.

.5cL bottle poured into dimpled mug. Dark mahogany colour with a thin tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and molasses. Flavour was nice, sweet caramel and molasses. Maybe a touch heavy in the finish but enjoyable.

500ml bottle. Darkish brown color. Aroma is quite malty, with a bit of nuttiness. Taste is very malty, with a sweet and caramel flavor to it as well. Very smooth beverage, but I did not find it very refreshing.

Deep red brown body with a small beige head; Very small caramel malty nose; Not soft enough body, big carbonation, a little sweet and bitter, very little character; Medium long malty bitter (not sweet enough) finish.

Decent dopplebock. I think this brew is suffering from comparison as I sampled Celebrator Dopplebock yesterday. On its merits though Korbinian smells of malty molasses. A bit one dimensional compared to others. Flavor is good, just doesn't have the complexity I was looking for in a dopple.

Dark ruby appearance with a large off white head and light lacing. Roasted caramel and chocolate malt aroma accented with dark fruit. Very smooth, full-bodied mouthfeel. Complex, fruity taste with hints of molassas and black bread. One little harsh note at the very end of the finish.
