Dark, clear garnet. Big foamy head--very little lace. Malty nose. Somewhat sharp carbonation. Medium bodied with loads of dark malt flavor. Very lightly sour. Finishes clean with some lingering molasses/brown sugar sweetness.

16.9 oz. brown bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a deep chocolate brown, with ruby highlights. Thick tan colored head faded quickly. Aromas are of roasted Carafa malts, toffee, and yeasty bread. Flavors are of brown sugar, sweet caramel malts, slight bready flavors. Rich mouthfeel, decent body. Finished slightly sweet & roasty.

Pours a translucent but very deep brown with a small off white head. Aroma is caramel, malts, rasins and a touch of metal. Flavor is chocolate, rasins, metal, caramel, fruits, esthers, a tad metallic and a touch of smoky ash. Sweet and slightly syrupy mouthfeel with a metallic tinge in the finish but highly drinkable and balanced.

Bomber. Pours brown and orange, with a fluffy large beige head. Yeasty aroma with a bunch of raisins, plums, overripe banana and marshmallows. Palate features crisp carbonation and a very dry finish. Flavor has ripe banana mixed with a malty, caramelly sweetness. Lots of ripe dark fruit in there, golden and red raisins especially. Finish contains dry cocoa, chocolate and vanilla. Overall I appreciated the complexity of this brew, but I think the ripe-fruit sweetness is not appropriately balanced in my opinion.

Hazy mahogany with a large head. Head retention was low. Aroma of caramel, roasted nuts, dark fruits and bread. Raisins and toffee is the taste. Medium to heavy body. Slightly syrupy texture. Sweet finish. Pleasantly surprising.

This one tasted especially good as I used it to help celebrate a drubbing of the hapless Cowboys tonight in the NFL. This is a strong rich good bock. Dark orangish brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of alcohol, fruitcake, malt and caramel. Rich palate that is all at once sugary, chocolaty, roasted but then it peters out just a bit at the end. Loved it but probably not the best of the style.

50cl bottle. Very dark ruby, firm lacey beige head. Buttery, rye bready roasted aroma, little vinous fruits, rowanberry, coffee and nuttiness. Roasted malty flavor, sweet rye, berries, herbal licorice finish. A tad alcoholic, smooth full palate. A great dobbelbock.
