Appears a transparent crimson with a cherrywood hue. Medium amounts of CO2 bubbles slowly rise to the top of the creamy, ivory head that has fades into a filmy cap. Scattered streaks of lace are left around the glass. Smell is of toffee, vanilla, roasted nuts, cocoa, and sugary caramel. Super nice with light booziness. Taste is of the same, rich, well blended aromas. This is a nice treat via Germany. Mouthfeel is super smooth, creamy, sugary, medium bodied, along with a velvet balance that glides along the palate. Drinkability...what a treat. I had Matt Capone (BA capones) special order this b/c I’ve never seen it in the SE PA market for some reason. No wonder it’s such a rare treat...it gets gobbled up whenever it comes around.

Behind a slightly acrid nose lies a beautiful, slightly malty beer with hints of fruit and caramel. There was a slight hint of a metallic taste in the first sip, but that quickly dissipated. Left practically no aftertaste, surprisingly for such a strong beer.

Pours a rusty brown with slight tan head that fades quickly leaving some nice lace along the glass. Aroma is very malty, with some caramel, light nutiness and some a light smell of a root cellar. Taste is caramel malt, some dough/bread, dusty grains, light fruitness and a touch of chocolate in the finish. Full bodied and very creamy. Pretty solid.

This is one of those that left a weird impression on me the first time around, I couldn’t put my finger on it at the time, but it is very nice this go around. The beer pours a beautiful deep ruby color with a nice tight tan head leaving a good lace. Aroma is sweet, nutty, very malty. Flavor is far more intense than the aroma but follows suit. Immedate notes of molasses, some good roasted malt, and a lot of nice nuttiness working around in the background. There is a mild bitterness which seems to come more from the roastedness of the malt, but works with the bit of hops that is present. Palate is very slick sort of oily but plesant never the less.

Bottle poured a dark brown with ruby showing against the light. A thick light brown head that exhibited lot of lacing crowned this brew. A nice full malty aroma with a touch of nuttiness. Body is strong malt with a roast character, a little less sweet than I expected, but pleasant. Nice full creamy mouthfeel.
