Commercial Description:
A double bock beer that has what it takes. Not just for lovers of strong beer. With a malty aroma and great taste, our Korbinian is a true beer speciality. It goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as wild roasts and fowl.

Deep garnet in color, huge biege head and sheets of lace. Nose is caramel, roasted grains, fruity, somewhat sweet. Start is sweet, the top light to medium, the finish is hop spicey, tart, dry, acidic, and is quite robust. The addition of the 7.4 percent ABV, does make it unsuitable for the ’Palate Challanged’ ’Light Beer’ crowd.

pretty sever rotten fruit aroma. prety soft and sweet with lots of chocolate bullets. i agree with austinpowers that it tastes a little more like belgian beer than german thanks to some icing sugar sweetness and plenty of caramelised pear. very smooth and drinkable but lacking that certain something to make it really interesting

Very pleasantly malty aroma of the typical bock. Dark brown color. Tan head which disappated quickly. Not an overly cloying flavor that some bocks have. Bock aftertaste stays on the tongue for several minutes after drinking. I’d buy it again!

I was not sure what to expect based on the labelling, but turns out this is a pretty good Doppelbock. Dark chestnut color with a medium thick tan head. Thin, stringy lacing. The aroma is very malty and bready. Medium-bodied and smooth with a nice smoky malt flavor. Sweet caramel and light hops balance well together. The finish is mildly bitter and roasty. All in all an above average Doppelbock.

This was a good beer, but not the best doppelbock I have ever had. The body seemed a bit thin but everything else seemed right up to par.

Good quite-standard Bavarian double bock. Delectable appearance, pouring with a king-size head, the Dirk Diggler of head. The rest is pretty well what you’d expect from a quality German double bock. Bready. Check out a non-German but highly similar treatment, the Birra Moretti La Rossa (classified as Bock but not much difference). Some time back, I had rated that one a 3.8 and drew a comparison to this one....

Dry, musty aroma of caramel, dark chocolate, and a touch of nuttiness. Medium to dark brown colored with a small ring of foam. Good, well-rounded flavor of roasted nuts and chewy malt. Lot's of malt in this one, which makes me a fan. If it were a tad thicker, darker, and sweeter, then it would rival Celebrator.
