Clean amber body with a fluffy tan head. Aroma is strong and sweet with big bursts of malt. This is a very malty beer, smells like a can of malt extract. Flavor is massive, full of malt and alcohol. Sweet almost cherry flavors in the highly alcoholic finish. This is one prize of a beer. Overall, this is an awesome beer. It should be slowly enjoyed from a snifter. Bottles are the perfect size too. Outstanding!!!

Just tried this beer last night, Wow, I just loved it. Slightly sweet, maybe chocolate or toffee. I will need to more to be more desriptive.

Very nice. Pours a very dark brown with a creamy head similar to the Hefeweizen. The aroma is not really powerful, but it is very pleasant. I pick up raisin, a little chocolate, coffee, malts and some wine. The taste is pretty much the same as the aroma except for the great mouthfeel. I am quite impressed, but I think there Hefeweizen is better. The mouthfeel is so creamy in the beers from this brewery. Very impressive.

Pours a velvet black smooth body with a thick, reasonably stiff off-white head--imposing in a Schneider glass...floral, malty balance--a bit of berry dances with a soft hops bouquet... complex, definite presence of banana, clove and caramel... soft, thin, warm mouthfeel; light for a doppelbock, almost with a weizen lift--the aftertaste is appropriately warming...smooth and deceptively soft--a pleasure to taste with a balance of malty solidness and and wheat in the teeth...a perfect treat for an unseasonably humid evening in May, refreshingly versatilefor spring, summer or fall...

Rich brown colour. Thin, creamy head. Full aroma of roasted malts with hints of cocoa. Warming malty flavour. Lingering hint of cloves stays on the tongue accompanying the warming alcohol.

Cloudy, hazy brown. Very unfiltered appearance. Aroma of nothing but malt. Anyone who is scared of beer because it is bitter will be scared of this because it smellls so sweet. Flavors of dark dried fruit, malt, molasses, Mostly roasted malt flavors in the finish. Very balanced texture. Rich and Malty. Very full bodied!

Pours with a dark amber, caramel color. Produces a thin beige-colored head of foam. Aroma: Sweet; layers of malt, nut, dark fruit and molasses. Flavor: lively mouthfeel through having a moderate amount of carbonates; toffee, caramel, plum and raisin flavors threaded by nuts and coffee. Round, silky, lingering finish. Bitterness value: 32.

Deep, dark brown pour, wonderful sweet aroma. Very smooth to drink, although slightly sweeter than I typically prefer.
