A double bock beer that has what it takes. Not just for lovers of strong beer. With a malty aroma and great taste, our Korbinian is a true beer speciality. It goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as wild roasts and fowl.

Pours deep brown with a healthy creamy head. Malty aromas complement the smell of baking bread, with some citrus in the deep background. Alcohol up front, with a lively, but creamy, palate. Lots of light chocolate malts, coffee and dark rye bread. Banana, too. Dry finish. One of the best dopplebocks I’ve had.

Nice brew. It pours a coffee brown color with a slight off-white head. The aroma is chock full o’ sweet maltiness. Good full-bodied, modestly carbonated mouthfeel. The taste is of roasted malts, some dark fruit sweetness, and a dash o’ the hops. Sweet malt & fruit finish. A fine example of what a doppelbock should be. Lagers can be excellent.

Pouring a dense dark brown, the big malty aroma first strikes the senses, followed by the dry, dark malt flavors of this medium-bodied brew. A berry-like character is present as is a hint of chocolate. Very drinkable.

Pinter. Poured a dark brown that reflected a slight amber hint with a milk chocolate head. Very little lacing. Aroma is a mild roasted feel. Taste is a bitter/sweet layer of molasses, brown sugar and some toffee with a raisin/prune base. The aftertaste is straight banana. Nothing more. Maybe I was trippin though. This was a good beer to sip on while watching Law and Order : Criminal Intent. It was so obvious though the chick did it.

500mL bottle. A deep ruby pour with a big, extremely creamy tan head that leaves some good lacing. Subdued aroma is of creamy coffee, sweet malts, molasses and hints of banana esters. Medium-bodied and smooth. Sweet, creamy coffee and caramel body that has some roastiness to it. Some chocolate, molasses and bananas in there too. The finish has some creamy coffee bitterness. Nice label. I really like the religion-themed beer labels for some reason.

Behind a slightly acrid nose lies a beautiful, slightly malty beer with hints of fruit and caramel. There was a slight hint of a metallic taste in the first sip, but that quickly dissipated. Left practically no aftertaste, surprisingly for such a strong beer.
