Commercial Description:
A double bock beer that has what it takes. Not just for lovers of strong beer. With a malty aroma and great taste, our Korbinian is a true beer speciality. It goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as wild roasts and fowl.

Behind a slightly acrid nose lies a beautiful, slightly malty beer with hints of fruit and caramel. There was a slight hint of a metallic taste in the first sip, but that quickly dissipated. Left practically no aftertaste, surprisingly for such a strong beer.

Tastes like 80% bock, 20% wheat. This is listed as a weizenbock, however the style on this site seems much more appropriate. Strong roasted caramel and plum aroma, with heavy plums, figs, prunes, and dates flavors and a fruity banana/apple finish. Develops a scotch-ale character as it warms, making this a unique, albeit slightly underachieving brew from my favorite brewery.

on draught at the Anthill pub, early 2003. This is a very nice doppelbock. Dark brown body w/ a tan head. Nice malty taste, smooth & sweet

Nice "Dark Strong Beer" from the "Oldest Brewery in the World." Great smell, good head, wonderful, germanic finish. Not the best double bock I've had, but in the top ten.

Bier #3. Brown with some reddish tints. Nice head that doesn’t hold either. Spicy, hoppy and roasted aromas. Taste is smoky with molasses and lightly hopped. Malty up front with a slightly bitter finish.

This rocks! Dangerously delicious. Bittersweet fruity nose, with some very nice caramel malt, mixed over the top of delicious black, almost has a chai taste to it, with some liquid vitamin mineral dryness. Sticky, but not syrupy, with a sweet mouthfeel but still remains very clean and is never heavy.

This beer pours a dark amber/brown color with a medium head and almost no lacing. The aroma was slightly malty with hints of fruit. The taste was very smooth and sweet with a thick roasted taste to it. The drinkability is just a medium because it is very sweet and very thick. It is quite enjoyable, but I don't think I could drink several in a row.
