Commercial Description:
A double bock beer that has what it takes. Not just for lovers of strong beer. With a malty aroma and great taste, our Korbinian is a true beer speciality. It goes well with smoked meat and fish as well as wild roasts and fowl.

Very dark amber and slightly hazy. Nice head, but it quickly pops away. Cakey-yeasty nose. Soft and very creamy texture -- nice! Malts were fairly sweet, a little roasty, woodsy, damp and earthy. Hops were a little fruity (dried apricots), herbal, and grassy, with a healthy amount of bitterness that easily kept up with the big malts. Good beer.

Tried for the first time the other night and i had no idea what it was when i ordered it. Smoky and burnt flavor, intermixed with sweet malt. Quite excellent. Very appealing except the large amount of debris at the bottom of the bottle, which left me puzzled. Oh well, still good.

One bottle from BOTW. Poured a large slightly tan head. Deep brown color with a sweet toasted malt aroma. Flavor the same. A nice thick chewy bock. It’s great that there is no hops bite in this. Just goodness. Enjoyable

Weihenstephan is a synonym of beer quality: there is a famous institute for brewing. the bavarian experts make this very dark and strong malty beer.

Brown pour with the slightest hints of red.Big tan head that is gone in a flash.Aroma is reminding me of toasted raisin bread. Nice malty backbone. Sweetin the middle with a little bitter at end.

Dark brown with red highlights and a nice tan foam. Aroma is full of dark fruit and sweet malt. Flavor is similar with some toffee, and yeast. It is a fairly complex flavor and is delicious. Great feel, too.

Gorgeous chestnust color though with a faded head. Pleasantly intense malt ball aroma and dusted malt, exquisitely well-rounded. Med-um-body that is slightly watery for a doppelbock, but posses a flavorful malty component, again of malt balls and some bitter-sourness on the finish. A solid example of the style. Perhaps some smoked Rauch malt is used as well.

Niced auroma, and a beautiful hue. Tasty beer with a nutty taste. Maybe I’m just the nutty one, I don’t know.
